Re: ASV Settings?
Welcome! Your profile says you're using a ResMed Aircurve 10 VAuto machine. Could you confirm that in fact you're using an a ResMed Aircurve 10 ASV machine?

Welcome! It's just fine to jump around, though it'd be helpful if you'd stay in this same thread so that people can see what your questions have been. Could you try an experiment? This is without your mask on. Put the back of your tongue up against the roof of your mouth and let the rest of your ton...

Re: Can using a CPAP for years open the epiglottis?
I doubt whether CPAP use could change the daytime position of the epiglottis -- but this is a question you should ask your ENT. If you haven't already, you should also ask the ENT about the cause of your dysphagia and the potential treatments that might help you.

Re: Respironics ASV to Resmed ASV difficulty
There's some good information here:

Also, try using the new machine during the day or evening, outside your bedroom, while you read, watch TV, or use your devices. This will speed up your adaptation.

Re: FS - Lowenstein Prisma 20A with Extra
Maybe I'm the only one, but I missed the "FS" in your thread title. You might revise it to "For Sale." As for getting a bilevel machine, you might try sending a private message to forum member LSAT, who sells lightly used machines. I got my VAuto from him, and everything went very smoothly.

Re: Advice for first time sleeping on airplane w/cpap?
Glad it worked out for you. In addition to an eye mask, I like using earplugs. My favorite kind are the waxy ones. They block a little less sound than the foam plugs, but they're much more comfortable for me.

I'd suggest you start with a fresh SD card in the new machine. Then just upload it into Oscar as usual. Let us know if you run into any problems.

Re: Starting soon.... One more question.
I wash the long hose and the water tank maybe once a year. I use distilled water in the tank and just top it up when it gets low. I wash the nasal interface once a week. I replace the filter in the machine once a month.

About that lock-down. Try putting the machine in airplane mode and see whether you can change your pressure settings then.

Re: OT insomnia
Before CPAP I loved reading in bed right before going to sleep, but I've taken to heart all the professional advice about using the bed only for sleep and sex. So now it's lights out once I get hooked up to the machine. I think this really made a difference. I've also been more careful about not usi...

Re: Starting soon and feeling angry embarrassed and not for the reasons that come up in searches.
Terrific posts from robysue1. A few additional thoughts: If you use a hose cozy, you can also use a safety pin through the cozy to secure the hose to your bottom sheet so you don't accidentally tug on it too hard. I felt very "private" about my need for CPAP when I started, but over time I realized ...

Re: First night with the air curve 11
To clarify: you got out of S mode, right? Into VPAPAuto mode? Also, what were your settings on the old S9? It's fine to tell your computer to go ahead download Oscar. You won't hurt anything that way, as many thousands of users can attest. You'll need an SD card in your machine and a way for your co...

Re: High heartrate and capped upper pressure
I’d recommend that you ask your doctor for a Holter monitor to see what’s going on. I am 63 with a normal ekg and normal heart ultrasound. My ex was a holter tech and put one on me in 1985. He said my heart rate went crazy in the middle of the night. In hindsight, I have always wondered if that was...
