Re: Sleep Study, O2, Do I have UARS
In theory, wouldn't the RERA index be the pRDI minus the pAHI? -- Even if that's true, though, it sounds to me as though the OP would benefit from an in-lab sleep test. And for anyone experiencing constant tiredness, I would strongly recommend a visit to the primary care physician for some blood tes...

Re: Night One on BiPAP
Welcome! Yes, the leaks are a concern, because the machine can’t compensate for leaks over around 30. In addition, during large leaks, it can’t reliably detect and respond to apnea events. Do you breathe through your nose during the day? If so, you might want to try a nasal pillow mask. The excellen...

Airyhead, it’s possible you had a brief period of palatial prolapse. If it keeps happening, talk with your sleep doctor. She might then want to refer you to an ENT.

Re: Past Pest back to bother you again
You've been through a lot! I'm glad the surgery is in the rear-view mirror, and it's good to hear you're feeling some improvement from resuming CPAP. Not so good to hear you had problems with your O2 levels. Did they give you a copy of your sleep test? (In the U.S., they have to if you ask for it.) ...

GG, it's great to hear how things have been going for you. If you have a moment, I wonder whether you might copy and paste your post into the Success Stories thread at the top of the page. I think it's a great post for newbies to read. I don't know why your reduction in BP and/or the medication you'...

Re: Anyone else experiencing connection problems here on the forum
Just for the record: I was locked out again this a.m. My biggest worry is that we are discouraging people from getting advice here as they confront the connection difficulties and the attachment difficulties. Pugsy, I'm sure you're concerned about this too and doing your utmost to get the changes we...

Re: Please help me with my sleep reports
Welcome! I'm so sorry I missed seeing your post last week. I spot-checked your hypopneas and CAs, and almost all of them clearly arise from arousal breathing. I'll explain more about that below. You also have a lot of flow limitations. Is your nose stuffy? Do you have any reports from the time befor...

I grew up in Nyack, southeast of Tuxedo Park, and people in NYC referred to it as being upstate. It's like that Steinberg cartoon, only north/south.

Please check with the airline to make sure that using both the battery and the CPAP machine are permitted on your flight.
