... upstate in the Tuxedo Park area.
Upstate???
That might as well be New Jersey!!
Upstate is like Syracuse.
BTW we just saw Bruce there (the trick to getting great seats at a good price).
Quite the show.
Freeze this moment a little bit longer.
Make each sensation a little bit stronger.
Experience slips away.

I grew up in Nyack, southeast of Tuxedo Park, and people in NYC referred to it as being upstate. It's like that Steinberg cartoon, only north/south.

Next you're gonna say Bill and Hillary live in upstate (although I don't really know where they live. We get turned back at county border. They don't rightly take to our kind there).

When you've lived in Brooklyn as long I did, anything above mid-Bronx is "Upstate."
But I was going for the predicate adjective "upstate" as a direction, as in "further up the state."
Now I go to Nyack much more often than I do DUMBO.
Although at the moment I'm in WV, disguised as a non-Yankee for safety reasons.
I don't think UARS exists in this state.
Much like Costco.
