Re: Anesthesia and sleep apnea
I was surprised at my last colonoscopy that they were going to use profolol. I didn't know until I was already prepped for the procedure and the anesthesiologist came in with the consent forms to sign. I almost backed out. In the end (no pun intended) I woke up afterward with no issues. I didn't re...

Re: Anesthesia and sleep apnea
MargaretM, I have cognitive issues and propofol caused zero problems when I was twice put under anesthesia the past few years. My procedures weren't as extensive as yours but I was still worried I would be very susceptible to worsening effects. I worried needlessly. Forgive me if I have mentioned th...

Re: OT - Net Neutrality
My question wasn't about the post being revived. The question was why 49er made identical posts about five hours apart. I know she has had an illness and seems to live alone. I only asked out of concern for 49er. 49er is fine. She made the first post early yesterday morning...someone spam removed i...

Re: OT: Time out and/or Duke it out thread
Chunkyfrog, the cat-juggler (or, cat-jugular, as the case may be) is now in time out for correcting other people's spelling. Since this came up,, one of my pet peeves is correcting the spelling or mispelling, as the case may be. of someone who comes here for help with their sleep apeonia. For some ...

Re: Xanax
Mark, you said, "Some people have addictive personalities, and they will get hooked on anything/everything. If you are one of those types,....quit taking it now" That is implying that someone should cold turkey the drug.

Re: Xanax
As others have said, I can't see xanax as being a good combo with OSA, but it is often used to help people get to sleep. My ex gf went through a period where she had a bit of an anxiety issue, and was on it for a couple of years @ .25 up to 3X a day IIRC. It helped her quite a bit, and she came off...

Re: Xanax
Newbie, I understand the frustration but playing "chase the perfect medication" without waiting to see what your sleep results are which will most likely lead to an apnea diagnosis is something you don't want to be doing. And taking Xanax, especially when you didn't have a good result the first time...
