Re: Xanax
I went to doctors today because I've been extremely exhausted lately and still waiting on sleep study results. I have been getting 7 to 9 hours of sleep according to Fitbit every night but still exhausted. Dr today prescribed me 0.5 mg Xanax. Won't that just make things worse if I have sleep apnea?...

Re: Does sleep apnea patients qualify for Disability
Forgive the bluntness, my situation looks bleak. I have multiple medical conditions all which may be fatal. To list them a) I had an aortic dissection type B which is growing larger b) pacemaker implanted c) cpap machine for sleep apnea. Once and for all if I have been using cpap machine for over a...

Max,
I have been thin for several years and still got lymphoma. So much for your extremely biased theories.

Re: 3 Miserable Months
HI Max, There are two issues with the first one being whether insurance companies should cover weight loss surgeries. I will punt on that one. But I disagree vehemently that gaining weight is a personal choice for everyone who ends up in that condition. Several years ago, after being put on Prozac ...

Tip for alleviating dry mouth
Two nights in a row, I have taken a very small amount of xylitol before going to bed. It has helped considerably as when I wake up, mouth feels a lot moister vs. previous times when it felt like the Sahara desert.
Obviously, your mileage will vary.

Re: Trelawney finally called
I know you said you don't have insomnia and don't like airy-fairy mumbo-jumbo stuff. So maybe you won't like this idea. But a friend of mine went to a CBT sleep specialist to tackle the mental aspects of a sleep disorder. (CBT is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.). So instead of just a numbers-oriented...

Re: Cold and cpap
Well last night was the first night in 2 years of not sleeping with my mask,I have a cold and my nose is running and the nasal pillows just wasn't working. Seems like I woke every hour and had the worst night, which I am sure the cold is not helping but I am so use to keeping the mouth shut it was ...

Re: Can oral appliance for OSA break your teeth?
Is it possible that an oral appliance for OSA can fracture teeth? On one site I read that a possible side effect is "Further damage to periodontally involved teeth." This year when trying an appliance I experienced one upper pre-molar with a stress fracture, and the molar behind it was infected , a...

Re: 3 Miserable Months
FIrstly, I have had a bit more than that amount of time with no success on CPAP. I interpret the situation as the OP is significantly overweight or obese and the doctors attribute the OP's OSA to that condition. Of course the insurance company wants to see CPAP work so they don't have to pay for su...

Re: 3 Miserable Months
It’s been three miserable long months since I was told I had to get this vile and disgusting machine. I fantasize about shooting it, running it over, and dumping the remnants in a vat of acid. I am having weight loss surgery in a few months and not using it is grounds for my surgeon and insurance t...

Re: Fitlife deal at cpap.com now
Amess, Since you asked about the perfect mask in another thread, I wanted to mention that I wonder if this mask had been made in a medium size, if it would have come close. I really liked the Fitlife but no matter what I did, I couldn't get it to stop leaking. I just think it was too big for my face...

Re: Lets stop picking on XXyz
XXyzz is not Jack the Ripper. Every once in a while he has some decent information. Perhaps if we are nice to him he will stop all the crap and be nice to us. I know I will be bombarded with responses so let them rip-- I am curious, have you ever found that being nice to people like xxyzx worked in...
