Re: Need help, suspect UARS. Want to try APAP - need advice and guidance.
Based on the discussions of Mike Mew, it seems to me that it could be a good explanation.. which would also explain why increasing pressures don't necessarily help (as it may hold the airway open, but it doesn't prevent the tongue itself falling back and therefor the airflow itself is still restric...

Re: Toshiba SD Card WIFI signal strength?
Hi. I've just started using this myself and found that it doesn't require it to be power cycled, I would have to eject and then reseat it. I just ran across an article that mentions this, and says to go to the config file, and change the APPAUTOTIME to zero to disable the time out. For me, it didn'...

Numbness coud be result of nerve or spine compression. Untreated, it may escalate to be permanent or painful, so I urge you to diagnose it.

Re: Devilbiss / Intellipap Auto Adjust - SmartLink / Software
I've got the Sleep cube with the data module and the software. Don't waste any of your money on these. The data provided is minimal compared to other data-enable CPAPs and will not enable you to optimize your therapy. I've learned much more since switching to a ResMed and sorry for wasted time & mon...

Re: Mystery solved! ever heard of "palatal prolapse" (new article)?
With the aid of a nightly HD (1080P) IR video, I can say this https://i.imgur.com/ef88whh.jpg is an arousal (head position change, nostril scratch) for unknown reason followed by swallows (adam's apple movement), while here https://i.imgur.com/Rok6s6A.jpg there was no visible sign until an arousal (...

Re: Need help, suspect UARS. Want to try APAP - need advice and guidance.
Elsewhere I heard that BPAP was the way to go for UARS. I don't know your history, is that what you have? In 2005 the sleep lab diagnosed obstructive apnea, I don't believe they knew what UARS was. Many labs still don't. Since I sleep with CPAP/BiLevel for treating the OAs anyhow, the formal diagno...

Re: Need help, suspect UARS. Want to try APAP - need advice and guidance.
Were you using fixed pressure CPAP or an APAP? Did your machine have EPR? I tried just about every combination... both AirSense 10 and AirCurve 10 in both fixed and auto modes. After lots of experimentation and excel graphs is was clear that the dominant factor in reducing flow limitations was EPR ...

For me, FLs were not solved by higher CPAP pressure 18, but were solved with a BiLevel EPAP=9 IPAP=14 PS=5.canyouhearmeaya wrote: ↑Mon Jul 30, 2018 8:58 ambut after a point the pressure isn't actually helping resolve the FL's, and therefor instead its just mesing up my sleep quality

Same as before, thanks. Ordered the DreamWear full face and will try it.love2sleep69 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 10, 2018 2:22 pmYrnkrn, how are you doing lately? I upped my Dad's min pressure by 2cm on his AirSense 10 but I don't think I'm seeing a difference with these EFL patterns so far.

Re: CPAP in Denmark (I am from the US)
The ResMed power supply is universal 100-240V so you do not need any voltage converter. The 50W and 1600W are voltage converters and you should not use them, the 50W is too low and the 1600W does not produce sine wave and is not suitable for ResMed power supply. You need a simple generic US to EU ad...

Mouth is taped, no leaks or mouth breathing. As an alternative, I plan to try the DreamWear full face.love2sleep69 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 08, 2018 1:20 amAre these events causing you to mouth breathe, yrnkrn?

Re: Mystery solved! ever heard of "palatal prolapse" (new article)?
More to the point of my post as quoted, my point was that one should not misinterpret a study about recognizing signs of a specific palate issue as being a study that is relevant for PAP choices and pressure choices. That is not what that study is about. Recognizing the specifics of an anatomical p...

Re: Is anyone using physical stents to keep the airway open?
The stent go just beyond the soft palate, will not help with lower obstruction location, such as tounge. Would not work better than properly titrated CPAP. Could be useful for people whose obstruction is the soft palate. edit: found this endoscopy video https://youtu.be/rZNG7TQpDkY showing soft pala...
