Re: Pinholes in Resmed ClimateLine Heated Tube?

I received my stuff today.... Vet Tape, Hose cover, and a replacement hose. I figured I would try to seal the leak with Vet Tape first. It did help a lot, but Vet tape is not solid, so there was still some leaking. My wife pointed out that we had some Nashua Stretch and Seal tape that we previously ...

Re: Pinholes in Resmed ClimateLine Heated Tube?

There's no problem using a hose cozy on the heated hose. The worst thing that could happen is you use less electricity to keep the air in the hose at the temperature selected because the cozy helps insulate things. Not a bad thing at all. I have even used the Padacheek hose cozy which is a lot thic...

Re: Pinholes in Resmed ClimateLine Heated Tube?

I have a spare ClimateLine, and another one is coming tomorrow. I'm using a standard hose tonight, since the repair did not work. I figured I could try a repair, but doing some research, this is not really recommended for long term on a heated hose. I'll try the vet tape to see if it works, and I wi...

Re: Pinholes in Resmed ClimateLine Heated Tube?

I tried a quick temporary repair with some clear shipping tape. No dice. The hole is down in the spiral section, and the tape is riding the top of those spirals. Even pressing it down into the spirals only stops the air leak for a few seconds. I ordered some of the vet tape, I'll give that a shot to...

Re: Pinholes in Resmed ClimateLine Heated Tube?

I recommend you try a hose cover. Karen at padacheek sells very nice ones. Also try sending a PM to metsfan 302. He used to make very nice, heavy hose covers that would probably protect the hose from further cat attacks. I was just looking at hose covers at Amazon. One of the suppliers said that it...

Re: Pinholes in Resmed ClimateLine Heated Tube?

If you don't know what vet wrap is https://www.amazon.com/Prairie-Horse-Supply-Adherent-Adhering/dp/B00MKAHMFO think of it as thicker and more sturdy than regular tape and it might be enough to prevent claw damage. Now teeth damage....I don't know it would be thick enough...I think a lot would depe...

Pinholes in Resmed ClimateLine Heated Tube?

I started CPAP in June of 2018. Around October, I had my tube start leaking air. It appeared to be a pinhole in the side. I replaced it, and had the same thing happen within a couple of days. Again, the hole appeared to be a pinhole puncture, not a tear. We have a cat, and while I have not caught hi...

Re: Hello - Travel CPAP

Just started reading more about the Z2. Looks like it's 29% quieter than the Z1, per manufacturer, but I hope that's not because they added a free q-tube muffler when you buy the z2? I posted some details in a fresh thread. Z2 Auto first impressions. The bottom line is that beyond the Q tube, it is...

Z2 Auto Travel CPAP - First impressions.

I purchased a Z1 Auto about a month ago. I slept with it for one night, and as a CPAP, it was fine. I slept well, my AHI's were 3.0. The only issue was with the whining noise. Even with the Q tube and larger hose, and allowing for a break in period of about 20 hours, the noise was a problem for my w...

Re: Tubing vs. humidity

I’ve tried pinning the heated tube to my shirt to try and reduce drag, but it didn’t work. And regarding the light tubing, I was told by my sleep guy that humidity cannot be used with the light-tubing on the ResMed Airsense. That it must be turned off. That is not correct. You can use the humidity ...

Re: Hello - Travel CPAP

I know size is a consideration here but my understanding is that most airlines will allow you to bring a machine with no penalty since it is a medical device. Would it not make more sense to get a second machine exactly what you use at home? No.. the reason to get the Z2 is size and weight, i.e. ea...

Re: Hello - Travel CPAP

I've got one on order that should ship on 3/26. I had a Z1 Auto. I used it one night. My sleep was OK. 3 AHI. Similar to my Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset. The unit did have some noise issues. I was OK with it, but my wife veto'd it after one night. I would have kept the unit. The noise was not an issue...

Re: HDM Z1 Auto Travel cpap real world review.

If traveling by plane, the battery may be a necessity. There is a possibility that you could just use the AC adapter if you are in biz class or First. (Hey... I can dream...) But one weird design of the Z1 or Z2... the power adapter plugs in directly above the tube adapter. I'm not sure how easy it ...

Re: What type of water do you use in your humidifier?

This is a theory:
If the same CPAP Mfg. says OK to use water in some or most countries, but says to use distilled in the USA, is it possible it's due to potential litigation from the guy in the US who puts swamp water in his CPAP, and gets sick?

Again, just a theory.
