Thank you all for your responses, I would point out that I am not considering giving up my CPAP because it doesn't bother me to use it, and becauise I feel it might asve my life. I am just very disappointed taht I am doing so much work and not reaping any visible profits. And I do wonder if somethin...

I had a tec whom I thought was a trans-gender, obviously dyed hair, large frame high pitched voice... couldn't even tell if it was going from M-> F or F->M. However he was sufficiently far from from being too involved that he/she never came when I needed him, and I had to screamm and bang when I nee...

Don't you think some of it could be just getting used to a new mask
I am due for a mask replacement now after about 8 months, and am thinking "better the devil you know...." I have less worry because i think if I adapted from day 2 to the whole CPAP business, then I can handle anything.

No improvement, is that possible?

I have been using an autoPAP, and use it all night every night. Could it really be that I still notice no difference in how I feel/ Not more tired, not less tired/ No more cheerful, not easier to lose weight. Just reasonably OK, as I was before diagnosis. My pulmonologist says: "You are lucky, it ne...

I find that going to sleep more tired seems to cause worse ersults, higher pressuer and higher AHI. I also notice that on days when I have been to the gym and had an intense workout I need more pressure. Better leak rates seem to reduce AHI, which is not surprising. Good luck, your rate was still no...

The apnea seems fairly severe, It doesn't appear that the surgery resolved the problem. In the supine position it was very severe, but most of us have more apnas in supine than in lateral positions. Good luck with the CPAP, ask for an auto or at least one which records data to make sure it is workin...

I had the same issue, I didn't sleep any normal sleep when titrated, had a couple of hours of strange painful gasping semi-sleep. When I began to panic after 3 hours of lying wide awake, thinking just what you expressed: "If I don't sleep, they won't be able to titrate me." So I sat up waiting for t...

I called several of their groups when first diagnosed, some of them had disconnected phone numbers, some called me back to say they have no meetings during the summer, and would let me know when. Only one actually claims to meet, but was a bit far. The narcolepsy support group run by a famous center...

I wouldn't consider wearing it just for sleep apnea, the odds of something happening for which the medical team would need to know that immediately are small. But if someone is wearing one anyway, for diabetes or allergies etc. wouldn't hurt to add the OSA. the only reason why we might be advised to...
