Re: First night with the air curve 11
I think you're smart to have a plan for weaning yourself off the Zolpidem. You might want to talk with your doctor about the best way to taper. To answer your question about your AHI, we'd need more information. If you're willing to try this, you can bring up more information on your machine's scree...

Re: Very unhappy morning
Look at the front of the machine to see what it says there. From the photos on cpap.com, it looks like ResMed is no longer putting the model name on the front of the 11 models. It seems the only 11 model that is available is the 11 AutoSet. Maybe they got smart and quit producing the inferior model...

Re: Very unhappy morning
Now that you mention it, if you have a range, you don't have an Elite. Look at the front of the machine to see what it says there. Lots of people feel they don't get enough air with a pressure of 5. I'd recommend a pressure of 7; I think that will be a lot more comfortable for you. You can change yo...

Re: Very unhappy morning
Google resmed elite clinical guide, and you'll get a link to a pdf that has lots of good information. Follow the directions for entering the clinical menu (pp. 15-16), and change your Patient View from simple to advanced. Then you'll be able to see more information on your screen each morning. While...

Re: Is there anything other than ASV I could try?
I would recommend that you eliminate the late-evening snacks. Beyond that, I recommend that you start keeping a record of how you feel during the day each day, along with potentially relevant additional information. This might help you spot correlations. The potentially relevant additional informati...

Re: Anyone else experiencing connection problems here on the forum
I'm not sure people are seeing this sticky, but at any rate, I continue to have to try several times before I can get on the site. What I see is this: Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to www.cpaptalk.com. The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authe...

Re: Sleep Study, O2, Do I have UARS
In theory, wouldn't the RERA index be the pRDI minus the pAHI? -- Even if that's true, though, it sounds to me as though the OP would benefit from an in-lab sleep test. And for anyone experiencing constant tiredness, I would strongly recommend a visit to the primary care physician for some blood tes...

Re: Night One on BiPAP
Welcome! Yes, the leaks are a concern, because the machine can’t compensate for leaks over around 30. In addition, during large leaks, it can’t reliably detect and respond to apnea events. Do you breathe through your nose during the day? If so, you might want to try a nasal pillow mask. The excellen...

Airyhead, it’s possible you had a brief period of palatial prolapse. If it keeps happening, talk with your sleep doctor. She might then want to refer you to an ENT.

Re: Past Pest back to bother you again
You've been through a lot! I'm glad the surgery is in the rear-view mirror, and it's good to hear you're feeling some improvement from resuming CPAP. Not so good to hear you had problems with your O2 levels. Did they give you a copy of your sleep test? (In the U.S., they have to if you ask for it.) ...
