Re: Increased Clear airway apneas
I'm with Julie on this... an EPAP of 13 is quite high and you may be struggling to exhale against that. If you are worried about oxygen desaturation, well wouldn't a high EPAP level cause that? In fact, too high a pressure in EPAP and/or IPAP could be causing the clear airway events. I'm going throu...

Re: Anyone Switched back to Airsense after Aircurve?
I was serious, but clearly mistaken. Thanks. I just didn't thik that it could be turned off in vauto. Do you know why they have it S and not Auto? The Aircurve product page does imply otherwise though: "The AirCurve™ 10 VAuto is an auto-adjusting bilevel machine that uses the comfort of both the Au...

Re: Anyone Switched back to Airsense after Aircurve?
If you look at the resmed product pages, Resmed specifically mentions Easy-Breath Waveform for the Aircurve, and not the Airsense (though they do mention an Easy-Breathe Motor for quiet).... Easy-Breathe is an option in the clinician's menu on the AirCurve. You can "simply" turn it off, though I pe...

Re: Ugh... repair estimate for AirSense 10
I know, I’m just desperate enough for a quiet machine in my hot little hands that I’d take a brick for now. My AHI is below 1. Understood. Send Member LSAT a PM. He posted recently in this topic. He's sells low hour devices somewhat regularly here. He has a terrific reputation for clean machines, d...

Re: Ugh... repair estimate for AirSense 10
This was for my machine that was not very old with not many hours on it. It was very noisy. The estimate is for a new PC board and pneumatic block, plus calibration and everything, and comes to $490. I was assured it was likely it’d be worth it to fix it before I sent it in, but I can’t imagine tha...

Re: Ugh... repair estimate for AirSense 10
I have another machine on the APC without any issues and I used the first machine without it. The problem with the other machine is very different- it’s a sound it makes sometimes and it’s a completely different, milder type of sound. It’s silent when I’m not breathing, where the machine I sent bac...

Re: Ugh... repair estimate for AirSense 10
Yep. That’s precisely why I asked if it sounded like it would definitely be worthwhile to fix - i.e. cost less than a new machine. I think I pay a bit over $200 in copays. I’m still working on getting physician documentation that I need a new machine... I never got an answer to my follow up questio...

Re: Did Lansinoh change?
I've only recently started using it here, having bought it about 2 months or so ago. I can't say if it has ever changed, but what I have is definitely not thin or liquid-like. Are you sure you got the right product? Where did you purchase it? Can you post a photo so it can be positively identified? ...

Re: I need a light weight battery and solar panels for camping
Oi. Well for light weight, you'll need lithium-ion. No way around that. And these are not inexpensive. This category is getting big, but Goal Zero is particularly popular for camping and they have solar chargers available. Their Yeti 200X weighs 5 pounds and depending on your machine/settings, you s...

ResMed AirCurve 10 VAUTO...Are you using Insurance or paying out of pocket? I was going to pay out of pocket, but CPAP.com won't sell me the machine with only a BiPap prescription, and I could not convince my new doctor to upgrade the prescriotion. I wouldn’t call that an “upgrade”. The AirCurve 10...

Re: Does Vaseline affect the shape of silicon nasal pillows?
I was having extreme dry nose too. The Lanisoh helps tremendously. I use it every night with nasal pillows and have no problems. I put a dab on the ends of my pinky fingers and rub it all around inside, as far up as I can reach. You don't have to glob it on inside the nostrils. Many years ago my do...

Re: Does Vaseline affect the shape of silicon nasal pillows?
I don't have allergies, yet most nights when I go to bed one of my sinuses clogs up. Are you aware that many users report high humidifier settings cause nasal congestion? I can vouch for this being a problem. After not using the humidifier for a long time, I decided to give it another whirl 3 month...
