Re: help with feeling better UARS

Could you post a picture of your night guard?

I have patient who have sleeping problems, and their previous dentist had made them a night guard that covers the entire palate.

I'm just like... really? A night guard that covers where the tongue is supposed to rest at night?

Re: Post-sigh apneas

DreamDiver, are those heartbeats? I thought it was the machine doing little puffs of air to test if you're in obstructive or clear airway apnea.

Bunch of flattened inspiration curves which would tempt me to bump up PS even higher. These terminated in arousal and a "CA"

All of mine are preceded by a period of increased ventilation, which leads me to believe they are arousal related?

Maybe that high of a PS is leading to inhalation intolerance and increased arousals?

Re: I'm a dentist treating myself! CPAP Results... Advice please?

Last night, I dropped EPAP to 12.0 and bumped PS up to 8.0. I also turned the "Cycle" function to Very Low and, as I was falling asleep, I noted that the machine wasn't "taking my breath away" too quickly which was nice. Re: I'm a dentist treating myself! CPAP Results... Advice please?

So I found a brand spankin' new VAuto and gave it a try the past couple of nights. Night 1: PS 5.0, EPAP 13.0. Re: Post-sigh apneas

No advice to offer here, but I saw in an earlier thread that you are looking into an orthodontist and ENT for your son. I am SO happy you are doing that and setting him up for success in the long run. If you'd like, send me a PM with your location and I can look into an orthodontist for you that is ...

Re: Looking to buy APAP - S11 anytime soon? - Non-wait Buyers Remorse?

I found the color pink that ResMed used....offensive but I know why they did it...it was rolled out for sale as part of breast cancer awareness week. It was an ugly pink though. Why not the blue for prostate cancer awareness then? Beats me....do they even do a big deal week thing for prostate cance...

So I'm going to switch to the ResMed Aircurve 10 S ... found one on Craigslist for $295 with 2890 hours on it.

Worth it?

Re: Do I have UARS?

From what I understand (and I could be wrong), RERAs are the hallmark of UARS. They are not complete hypopneas or apneas - it's just a narrowing of the airway that causes your brain to freak out and arouse. From your study, I see that no RERAs occurred, but really the best way to score for UARS woul...

Mind posting a picture of your bite?

Put your teeth together, smile big, and take a photo. I'd be curious to see what's going on.

Re: Dentist treating self w/ dream station. Oscar results

So, in every graph except for the last one, those events look like you're breathing in just fine, and on the exhale there's an obstruction. If the obstruction is coming from your palate flopping up into the nasopharynx, then EPR is your enemy. Basically, you want to have steady pressure coming from ...

See the vertical green bar over your hypopnea event in the flow rate graph of the second picture? Just keep left clicking on it, it'll zoom it in. You can do this for any area. Right clicking zooms back out.

Wow, great info, thank you. My brother sleeps with his head tilted back, I'll show him the video. Here's a shot of me for you to look at, interested in what you see as you know more about this than I do :-) Screen Shot 2020-03-25 at 5.23.44 PM.png And yes, I know I gotta get my third molars out and ...
