Re: Sour Body Oder since I started with CPAP

Since your wife is the person complaining of the odor, ask her to smell the machine to see if it's the source of the odor.

Re: Conduct noise from TV audio

The obvious thing to try is to reposition the machine, perhaps even slightly. Also, try putting a towel under it.

Re: Reason for Vent Holes?

Yes, you need the vent holes for CO 2 . However, I do find them annoying. I would want an option to put a hose on the exhaust, and allow it to vent far away. The exhaust can create an issue with noise, temperature, and air blowing in an uncomfortable way. The noise was especially bad with the first ...

Re: getting sores on my nose issue

Thanks for all the suggestions...will try them all one at a time and see if it persists. The spot is slightly on the side near the tip. Also, check the tightness and evenness of the head gear (i.e. "strap"). Too tight, too loose, or unevenness can cause this. Furthermore, check the relative tightne...

. . .

he knows what his settings are; 5-15.

it might be helpful if you read and understand the post before answering.
I would thin that the thirteen year user would have more specific settings than 5-15. This sounds like the way his machine was delivered, not his correct prescription.

Re: getting sores on my nose issue

The obvious question is whether you changed to a new mask? Even a seemingly identical mask might not truly be identical.

Try soaking the part that touches your face (where the sores are) in vinegar before the first (or next) use.

Re: AIRVIEW communications

Does my Airsense II call into Resmed Airview every day, and if so, is there a schedule? Or does The Airview system call my cpap every day (at their convenience)? In order for Airview system to work acquire information properly, do I have to have an SD card installed? ( I am thinking about the detai...

Yes, disable auto-off. You probably don't have to disable auto-on if it's a separate setting.

Does going dry shorten the lifespan of a CPAP machine? I’ve only occasionally used water.
No, provided that you turn the humidifier off (or to zero).

Re: Dream Station 2

I don't know if the original poster got this machine as a replacement for a recalled DS1, or if it's his/her first CPAP machine. If you are still in possession of your "old" machine, you can determine the settings. Otherwise, if you live in the US and obtained the machine in the ordinary way, you ha...

Re: Odor / Chemical Smell

The one thing that I would suggest is to make sure that the odor is coming from the machine. That is, make sure that this is not an odor that is present in the room!

Re: OHIP coverage for CPAP machine?

Resmed machines are top of the line. I wouldn't buy any other brand. I certainly don't recommend Philips Respironcs (Remed's main competitor). While my personal experience with their machines has been satisfactory, their handling of the recall (and cover-up prior) has been abysmal! I did have a Fis...

Re: Lifespan of my machine

To the orginal poster, It's time for a new one. I suggest you keep the old one as a backup (test it at least once per month by running it for at least ten minutes). Due to the recall scandal, I recommend you not get a Phillips/Respironics machine (you don't have one now). Although I have that brand ...

Re: Need new machine, what's state of art in 2023?

Although I can't report any issues personally, I can't recommend Phillips machines. I had a Dream Station 1, which was replaced by a Dream Station 2 due to a recall. While I did not experience any issues, the behavior of this company has lead my to conclude they're not reputable and that I would not...
