Re: Testament for weight loss and exercise to improve OSA
[/quote] What I learned in my journey is it's 80% what you eat (I'm doing low carb in that I'm diabetic) and 20% exercise. I've proven that to myself in that I walked 3 to 4 miles a day for years and gained weight doing it. Not until I changed my eating habits did my weight change... FWIW JeffH[/quo...

Testament for weight loss and exercise to improve OSA
My sleep doctor told me a couple of months back that any amount of weight loss would help my OSA, at the time I didn't really think it would make as much difference as it has. Since I started an exercise program on March 1st I have lost almost 30 pounds, the changes in my nightly numbers are below. ...

Re: How long til one feels rested?
After years of sleep apnea and feeling lethargic all the time, I recently received my first machine. Now I am wondering how long on average might it take for my body to feel rested? I started therapy late last December and until I started getting 6-7 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night I couldn't ...

Re: What is happening when apneas are reported
Hi, I'm not sure how to find the answer to this in a search. I have the S9 and wanted to know what is happening during the night with the apneas that are reported. For instance, if my readings are AHI 1.6, AI .7, CI .6 is that indicating that these are just happening or that they happened and the m...

Re: Sleep Apnea and life insurance
Hmmm. Sounds like it's a serious consideration, as the web article implied. Bummer. I wonder if the agent was oversimplifying, though. If he's right, you should be able to reapply. PS You should ugrade to the S9 if you can. I just did and like it a lot. I doubt my insurance company will want to spr...

Re: Sleep Apnea and life insurance
When I was first diagnosed with OSA about 7 yrs ago I never got on board with the CPAP machine, finally last November I decided to take another shot at the therapy and have been very successful so far. About 2 years ago I attempted to get some additional life insurance thru New York Life as I alread...

Re: My first report card
Those are very good numbers for sure. After about three months of therapy I am just now getting into a routine of 0.0 for AI's with the HI's running in the 2-3 range.

Re: Need 3 people to test Quattro Mask liner PAD A CHEEK Product
I have used the liner for the last three nights. Like everyone else I had to make a few modifications to get it to fit me but after that it has worked pretty good. That simply means that my numbers stayed in the same range as before but my face was not as beat up the next morning. The bridge of my ...

Re: Resmed software doesnt record full night?
My Resmed S8 software version 3.07.007 stops recording after about 10 hours. I normally put my mask on and lie down about 8:30 or 9PM while watching TV or reading. My software doesn't record data after about 10 hours. Any way to extend this time? Engransan I have never slept for 10 hours in a 24 hr...

Re: Prescribed Pressure
My sleep study showed that I needed 15 for my max pressure. At my one month appointment the sleep doctor moved it up to 17 because I was bumping up against the 15 too much. Today is my 3 month aniversary with the therapy. When I went to my appointment last Monday the 15th I had lost over 10 pounds s...

Re: Forma FFM question
Hi, I have the Forma FFM in a small. I really like this mask but I am wondering if I need a medium in it. It feels tight on my nose and is making a red place where it rests on the bridge of my nose. My question is does anyone know if I can just buy a new medium cushion and silicone seal to put in m...
