I think you are all crazy and none of you are going to change the others mind. You are entertaining though and good for a laugh! I noticed that your post was not mind changing or informative in any way ... or even entertaining or a good laugh. At least you managed to manifest an opinion that you th...

Re: Sleep Apnea and Diabetes?
Thanks Den, that was interesting. I have Type 1 so I know apnea has nothing to do with mine but was just curious how the two could possibly be related. Sometimes I feel like the medical community just picks something and blames everything on that one thing. Like smoking is to blame for everything th...

Sleep Apnea and Diabetes?
I am not denying it but am very curious as to how sleep apnea can cause diabetes if anyone knows. I understand the link between apnea and cardiovascular issues and strokes but can't see the connection to diabetes.

Re: Study: "CPAP machines do not reduce heart attack, strokes"
As a cardiac patient, this article almost ruined my day until I got to the 3.3 hours of use part. What a disreputable misleading article. If I had read this before I started on CPAP, I probably wouldn't have started treatment because I was not aware of the oxygen desats I was having. Now my oxygen ...

I agree with your interpretation from her original note but in her second she apologized for not being clear and changed it but I guess it didn't matter I was just trying to be helpful.

She said her husband has a difficult time waking up after using the CPAP not that the CPAP is waking him up.Julie wrote:Don't know what you're talking about....

Not an option? He may well drive for a living, but killing himself or others is not optional. I'm sorry if I sound harsh, not my intention, but if there are no quick easy answers here - yet, that's because there aren't any - yet. I strongly suggest he be seen by another doctor, qualified in sleep m...

Re: Options available for droolers and mouth breathers? New User
While you are waiting for your next mask and still using the full face mask try practicing not mouth breathing by putting your tongue up to the roof of your mouth behind your front teeth and keep your lips closed and keep practicing that which could also help with the drooling. You might find that a...

Re: Cigna refused to cover my sleep study
I had actually originally requested the home sleep study specifically with my primary care DR bit he was totally against it. He said they could not do the Titration study part in my home and I would need to go to the sleep lab anyways. We already know I have sleep Apena and the PR system one 550 is...

Re: Cigna refused to cover my sleep study
Many insurance companies are requiring a home study first now so you should just do that. I also don't know why your doctor "can't" write you an RX for a new machine since you were already on CPAP. Unless the insurance refuses to cover a new one without a sleep study. Many insurance companies are al...

Re: Alternative treatment of PLMD?
Also it really doesn't matter what any study shows, it only matter what works for an individual patient. If TENS works to relieve a percentage of Kteagues symptoms and she sleeps better that is all that matters. Also letting someone else know that it helps her can give someone else hope that there i...
