Re: Uncle!!!

I think most of us are now in the habit of copying our posts to our clipboard before attempting to submit them, in order not to lose our work if the forum messes up as usual. I'll probably give it a few weeks before I give up on it all and move on for a while. It's a free forum, and we're getting wh...

Re: OT.....Trump falling asleep in court

This forum has officially won the Internet for having the only known thread with the word "Trump" in the title that didn't eventually turn into some version of the fight scene at the end of Blazing Saddles.

Objection.

Leading, argumentative, assumes facts not in evidence, and calls for speculation.

Yeah. I know. Overruled.

Re: OT.....Trump falling asleep in court

When I did grand jury foreman duty, I irritated all my fellow jurors in between presentations by interviewing each one of them, one at a time, to keep us all awake. Many of them expressed appreciation for it. A few hated me for it. But it sure kept us from being bored. We all managed to help with th...

Perhaps the old "falling asleep at a traffic light" question should be replaced on the scale questionnaire?

Re: OT.....Trump falling asleep in court

On a related note, When lawyers dream overnight about clients, are they supposed to bill for that time?

(Asking for an enemy.)

Other than that, I do try my best to stay completely neutral in all free-sleep issues.

Re: Trump falling asleep in court

Donald who? Never heard of the guy. Everyone but the judge and the jury and the journalists (and maybe security, I guess) has the right to sleep in court any time he or she wants to. And I believe the politically correct term for it is "resting my eyes." Much of courtroom procedure ranks right up th...

Re: sleep study, what does it all mean?

what is an auto cpap? A CPAP that senses how you breathe and provides the possibility of its adjusting the pressure it creates to match your needs moment to moment. Isn't 5 kind of low? Some find 5 a very effective and comfortable pressure for starting out the night. Others feel they need a minimum...

Re: I am a nervous wreck

If I tried to have potato chips for breakfast and my PCP found out about it, I'm pretty sure she'd show up at my door with a SWAT team before I was finished chewing the first one.

Re: I am a nervous wreck

Maybe this mechanism would be more the relevant one for the OP, but it's far beyond my depth. Excess stress sets off your fight-or-flight response: Your adrenals secrete catecholamines, hormones (including epinephrine and norepinephrine) that raise your blood sugar so your muscles have the required ...

Re: I am a nervous wreck

Maybe not exactly how I would have worded things because of the relative rarity and variety of "causes"--and yet, counter-intuitively, for some, because of a sort of resultant reactionary timing dysfunction . . . Researchers have not yet fully identified the specific causes of reactive hypoglycemia....

Re: Important Jason/AXG video

I was prescribed bilevel and used autobilevel for years. But once ResMed perfected their EPR, I switched to APAP with EPR. Why? Partly for cost reasons, partly in reaction to weight loss, and partly because I like that EPR suspends when no flow is detected and because I really like the reasoning beh...

Re: Important Jason/AXG video

I won't/don't watch. Sorry. Once a sleep doc writes the Rx, he or she has basically done his or her job in the U.S. He or she has likely never used PAP personally and so has little to no idea what it is like or about in practice. The techs are for testing, not for treating. Unfortunately, the averag...
