Pressure Adjustments and Insurance Coverage

I'm just wondering if anyone has had issues with your insurance denying or limiting coverage for your supplies because of making your own changes to pressure settings? I own my machine outright so I'm not worried about them taking that away from me, but I'm concerned they would try and deny me cover...

Re: Full face mask valve issue

It sounds to me like moisture accumulation is causing the noise. After washing my equipment each week I get the same issue when I first put on the mask. If I exhale as hard as I can a few times, it pushes out the leftover water droplets and the noise stops. Perhaps have her try doing that when it's ...

Machine use times incorrect in OSCAR

Lately I've noticed that all my times in OSCAR have been an hour ahead of what they should be. The time used to be correct and I don't remember making any changes to the settings in OSCAR or to my AirSense 11. How can I tell whether the problem is with OSCAR or with the machine itself? I can fix it ...

Re: Question for the side sleepers

I use the AirTouch F20 full face mask and have no issues sleeping on my side. The key for me is to make sure the headgear is tight enough so my pillow doesn't dislodge the mask when I roll over.

Re: Loving the AirTouch F20 and Hi Pressure vs Low Pressure

I'll second you on the AirTouch being a great mask. I have about a month's worth of facial hair growth and my maximum leak rate is still 0 almost every night. Sure beats having to shave so I could cover my mouth with tape to prevent massive leaks, like I had to do with nasal pillows.

Error Message

Since signing up I've been getting the attached error message every time I navigate to a different page within the website, and it's made navigating the site quite difficult. I tried sending an email to the email address on the error message, but it gets returned as undeliverable. Has anyone else ha...

Re: Mouth Taping

I use the same mask as you, and my AHI is pretty comparable between the FFM and my old nasal pillow mask. But the only reason I use a FFM is so I don't have tape, and I can't say I have dry mouth issues with it. Have you tried increasing your humidity settings?

Re: AirSense 11 and Flow Limits

Thanks for the clarifications. Some sources I've read insist that EPR will reduce flow limits, yet since switching from a nasal to full face mask, mine seem to be almost identical with or without EPR. The only difference being I get a higher AHI with EPR on (both central and obstructive events).

AirSense 11 and Flow Limits

From my understanding, the fix for flow limitations is to add EPR. So if EPR is the fix, what is the reason for Resmed machines jacking up both the IPAP and EPAP pressures at the same time in response to flow limitations during the night? Wouldn't it make more sense for the machine to only add addit...

Re: Higher AHI with full face mask

@Miss Emerita Thanks for the input. At this point I feel roughly the same with either type of mask, maybe a little better with the nasal pillows, but not having to mess with mouth taping makes the FFM worth it to me. Another thing with the FFM is I tend to hit my pressure limit a few nights a week f...

Higher AHI with full face mask

I switched from a nasal pillow mask to a full face mask a few weeks back because I had to tape my mouth to avoid major leaks with the pillow mask, and trying to tape over facial hair was a pain (literally). Since switching mask types my AHI has been consistently higher - mostly more central events, ...
