Re: Continued use of recalled Philips Dreamstation machine
There is information in this that wasn't in the original thread that is concerning. The COPD in particular can make treatment a challenge. It sounds like you are saying the left ventrical ejection fraction may also be low as well. From the details in the report it would seem she has severe complex a...

Re: Why does heated tubing only come in 6+ ft lengths?
I actually meant something like this https://www.amazon.com/Kit_Metal-Structure-Strong_5-6-High_Angle-Adjustable_Prevent/dp/B09KBCZRJ8 I use one of these with commander tape to hold it up when I am done for the day. Keeps it out of the way of making the bed and will also let the hose dry out if the ...

Re: Why does heated tubing only come in 6+ ft lengths?
No market for it. Get a hose hanger if it is to long and it will keep it out of your way. And if yor are on a resmed using climateline tubing and thinking about shortening it yourself, it can't be done that I know of. Along with the nicron heating wire in the tube there is a temp and humidity sensor...

Re: CPAP making things worse
Hi and welcome, A couple of things. Please fill out your machine profile and mask so we know what you have exactly. The cpap machine will help the hypopneas once on the right settings. If you have a copy of your sleep study and titration results, black out the personal information and post it as wel...

The type outlet is dependant on the plane. All airlines fly international with planes that have regular outlets. But sometimes the regular plane is broke and the sub one without

Re: Mask cleaning question
The HEPA filter will only help if the contamination is coming in from the air. Black specs floating in the water is another sign of the recall. You can get an inline filter that is made to go between the hose and the mask to potentially keep the bits from her lungs. I don't know the exact specs on t...

Re: Mask cleaning question
I suspect your mother needs the S or ST model. You have zero way to know what is needed because you don't know the diagnosis that she is being treated for. Sorry, my assumption was based on the type machine she is using and something comparable. You are correct that she should consult the Dr for th...

Re: Mask cleaning question
There should never be a film on the water, if there is that also is getting into the lungs. Have you checked the two filters on the machine? Are they new or clean? The recommended change interval is a bit agressive, but if you don't know how old they are might be best to get new ones and change them...

Re: Traveling Internationally (China) Resmed10-AS
Hi, I haven't gone international with the machine but I can answer some of your questions - 1. Your power brick is a switching power supply. All you need to do is be able to plug it in through an adapter and it will function normally. No special precautions. Assuming your brick is like mine it takes...

Re: Best pressure to use
Based of the chart I would start at a steady pressure of 7.4 since that is where the AHI is zero. A pressure of 7ish is a pretty normal starting pressure for an adult. Most people prefer the APAP mode and a high/low pressure. If you want that I would set it on low of 7.0 and a high of 14.0 If it is ...

Re: Nasal Cushion Masks like the Airfit N30i but without the airtubes
Pinching the tube on one side is expected and not a problem. I have the same problem you do with all the nasal only masks except the N20. They all hurt my nose. Other masks work better for me and I currently switch back and forth between the F20 and the F&P Evora (like the F30, but the large size is...

Re: f20 issues
I alternate between the F30 and the F20 just about weekly. Sometimes the F20 irritates the bridge of my nose where it touches. Sometimes the F30 hates me and irritates under my nose. On the F20 you should try the airtouch cushion if you haven't, it has memory foam at the contact points. It also seam...

They work about the same, I tried a variety to start with and landed on the cover roll because it it way cheaper than the Nexcare and works for me.
