Changes in sleep pattern

I have been on CPAP for over 5 years. I would go to bed at about 11:30 and wake up at 7:00 A.M.. I would not be able to go back to sleep and I would have fallen asleep instantly. I had a heart attack a year ago and was on Lipitor. A little over a month ago I was changed to Crestor to eliminate any m...

Resmed S9 Humidifier Question

I just got in the 20th (Oops 21st) Century and replaced my 5 year old Good Knights with a Resmed S9. On the GK I was told to remove the humidifier tank each day to prevent the moisture affecting the CPAP machine. O the new Resmed the chamber fits inside a separate compartment. Should I still be remo...

Re: Vertigo with No Alcohol

Three years ago within about 2 weeks of my 60th birthday, I had to go to the hospital via ambulance because of vertigo like symptons. They put me on oxygen upon arrival here at our home and a little while later I was feeling 100%. They wouldn't let me go for 48 hours to be sure that it was not my he...

Re: Do I lower pressure?

The reason I want to change it is to eliminate the afternoon yawning and to wake up totally refreshed and not yawning in the morning. Will a lower pressure extend my sleep cycle?

Do I lower pressure?

I have been on CPAP / APAP for four years. I was diagnosed with a setting of 10 and a ramp of 4 for twenty minutes. I started out on CPAP and then acquired an APAP machine. I used it for several years. About 6 months ago, I starting using my CPAP again with the prescription settings. I also started ...

Cuba CPAP machine safety

We are going for several weeks to Cuba. I will have my machine and usually leave it set up all day when we are out. Would the machine be safe? Did you have any power or water issues?

Re: Finally got an update!

Oops! They only gave me a compliance report and my pressures report. I guess it is back to them. In january when they did a sleep study for updating their records the numbers were very similar. I personally feel pretty good. My wife rarely complains of leakage. I have to confess I do yawn sometimes ...

Finally got an update!

I have been on APAP for over 2 years and while I did get a pressure report a few months after I got my machine I have not had one since. The following are my recent stats. Current pressure set 9 to 15.5. My ramp is 20 minutes at 4.0 My compliance is 6 hours 21 minutes. I know it is about 7 hours but...

Omigoawd!
It probably is my shoes. They are worn excessivly. I wear Orthotics and normally with a bit of wear I get a pain on one hip. This time they are realy, really worn so I will correct this today and see if this is the issue. I will bet it is!
Thank you for all the replies.

Yyour point is taken. It might not be CPAP but I feel it is caused by me sleeping non stop now which is a recent development as well as being in one position. Interestingly, we have been opening a window since it has been so hot and this seems to be the only change in my routine.

Eliminating back pain / ache.

I have been on CPAP for two years this month and normally I do sleep uninterupted for 7-8 hours. Recently, I have been experiencing back pain / ache upon wakening. I did a search for these terms and found 910 posts but I never saw any suggestions for ways to eliminate or minimize the pain. Also, I c...

Something just ocurred to me.
I use 2 pillows so my head is raised. If I am on my back, does this affect the angle of my airway in my throat?????
