Re: Hose Boss

I took a screwdriver and opened up the hook just enough to be able to pull the metal ring off with a click so that I can remove it every morning and keep the velcro attached to the hose when I hang it up. The plastic tab placed so that it is perpendicular to the front of my machine with the opening...

Re: Not sleeping thru the night

This used to happen to me. Anybody with this problem hit me up for a sample of the pur-sleep product. It really helped to solve that particular problem (my "alarm" time used to be 2:00 am, every night--it was uncanny).

Re: Issues with Compliance

Exploring the Role of Olfaction in CPAP Compliance: A Literature Review By Bret F. Randall, J.D. ©2007 The numbers are shocking: One in four adults, 31% of all men and 21% of all women over 18, are “at high risk” for sleep apnea, based on analysis of the National Sleep Foundation’s 2005 Sleep in Ame...

Re: Issues with Compliance

There is an abundance of mainstream, published articles on the use of aromatics in anesthesia. All of that has direct application to the issue of cpap mask anxiety and compliance. Examples: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/pan.12027/abstract http://journals.lww.com/anesthesiology/Citation/...

Re: Issues with Compliance

NCSU Student - I would like to state my earlier comment differently: Anesthesiologists have problems with mask anxiety, especially with children. Long ago they started using good smells to help patients overcome their mask anxiety. That is mainstream medical practice because it works. The Pur-Sleep ...

Re: Issues with Compliance

Hi Bret - where can I find information and product to order for your aromatherapies for cpap? Do you have your own website or just sell through major retailers like Amazon? I sent you a private email a day or two ago about your Pur-Sleep pillow trial. Thank you! It's available on cpap.com. I also h...

Re: Issues with Compliance

Hello all, I'm working on a school project at North Carolina State University. Our team is working to address CPAP compliance and we're wondering if any of your would be willing to share why you struggle with compliance. What thoughts do you have? Is it just a comfort issue with the machine? What c...

Re: New Cpap Pillow from SleepGuy

The zipper is genius, but if it had been on the end instead of along the thin, long side, I could have tried it with that side next to my neck, as the wide side is a bit tall for me. I would suggest maybe a trapezoid cross section rather than a triangle to accommodate those of us with short necks. ...

Re: New Cpap Pillow from SleepGuy

Thank you for your kind offer, Sleepguy, but I find that 4" pillows are also too tall for me. (Did I mention my short neck?) Luckily, I can sew, and am looking for a quilted remnant of appropriate size to make myself a 3" tick for the awesome filling in the pillow you sent me. Luckily, my mom share...

Re: New Cpap Pillow from SleepGuy

For anybody who has reviewed the pillow, it would be great if you would also post a review on the general Amazon SKU. As most people have mentioned, the pillow works great for CPAP but it's also just a great pillow for anybody. Here's the general SKU: http://www.amazon.com/Shapeable-Pur-Sleep--Three...

Re: New Cpap Pillow from SleepGuy

I think I'm gonna try the pillow too. I was afraid to because of my neck, but I think I'm convinced. I was also considering the water pillow, but I think this new buck wheat version will be next. I say next because I never actually have found the 'perfect' pillow. Am currently using a 'square-D' bu...

Re: Septoplasty + Turbinate Reduction Recovery Time

I am SO happy I had this procedure to correct my severely deviated septum. CPAP works SO much better for me--no more sinus infections! My colds clear up in a few days. Average AHI is 0.1 consistently every night, even when I am a little congested. A little of the Clear essential oil does wonders for...

Re: Hose Boss

wow--that's very clever on so many levels...First, never thought to use it like that, horizontally. It would never have occurred to me. And I'm a pretty clever guy. Second, the doll with the mask is awesome. Great video review! http://www.amazon.com/Retracting-Reel-Hanger-Holder-Pur-Sleep/product-re...
