Re: Obsession with distilled water

I probably clean mine once a year, using RO water. Even then it's not really dirty at all but, I guess it's kind of like taking a bath every Saturday night, whether you need it or not.

I used an S8 Vantage for about 2 months (a loner while they downloaded data for my Dr., they're kinda slow huh?) I was kinda hoping they would just forget about mine and let me keep the S8. Very small, seemed top work about the same as my Autoset, and I really like the design of the humidifier. So m...

Could old mattress cause sleep apnea?
I don't know, but I'm trying to convince my wife that not having a new pickup is causing mine.

Re: Three Suggestions

"Three other things helped me a lot, but they were hard for me to do. No caffeine after Noon, no alcohol at all, and no eating past 3 hours before bedtime." There is also a fourth suggestion: If you smoke, quit. Before anyone decides to remind me of how difficult it is to quit don't bother, as I am...

[quote]Let your new machine run on empty for 3 hours or more.
Soak your hose and mask in warm soapy water for abt. an hour - you might be reacting to residues left in the system after production.

If you look at the second link, there is another link there to the PDF of the Air Force Instruction (Used to be a Regulation, but that's not very friendly now is it?) containing the CPAP reference. It a very large document so it could take some digging. I'd imagine the other services regs would be s...

Thanks for the hot water tip oldgearhead. I didn't even think about that. I'll have to try that tomorrow morning. So I can tell from your response that you are a taper. How much tape do you use and how do you place it on your mouth? I just ripped a big piece and taped my mouth shut like someone who...

There was no option for a dental device which keeps you from mouthbreathing. I use the MAD ( M outhbreathing A ssist D evice) designed by Frequenseeker (http://www.talkaboutsleep.com/message-boards/viewtopic.php?t=4750) using two boil and bite mouthguards (at a cost of $2 total). I've tried taping a...

Ever notice that if you nap for over 20 minutes or so you often woke up feeling groggy and worse than you felt before going to sleep? I did. Now all my naps (on the infrequent occasions I take them) are with my machine. I no longer wake up feeliing like I've been rode hard and put up wet. It's calle...

You might try Carmex (for cold sores). It's great for chapped lips, hands, irritation under the nose from nasal masks, sore scalding posterior jalapeno burn (that's right, it's exactly what you think it is!), healing round the nares when you've had a runny nose for a week.
