TB,
I second everything Oz said. As long as you are otherwise healthy, taping is a cheap and easy way to find out if you are mouth breathing. Some people really like a nasal or nasal pillows mask or can't find FFM that works, so it provides a workable alternative. Good luck.

Re: DME Time Frames
If it was me, I would call the DME and ask them if they got the prescription, just to make sure no one has dropped the ball. You can also get a time frame from them as to when you can expect your equipment, and use the opportunity to ask what kind of mask and machine they will be selling you. Then b...

Re: http://www.sleeptracks.com/
It sounds like something on the order of gluing pads to the bottoms of your feet while you sleep to draw the toxins out of your body. They sell you an audio track that you play to promote.....wait for it......"BRAIN ENTRAINMENT". Supposedly the rhythm of the music tracks puts your brain in the prope...

I turned mine off the second or third night. But I think it is a good tool to use for people who are having a hard time adapting, no matter the pressure.

Re: New to Forums and CPAP
Glad to hear things are going well for you! If you have time, click on User Control Panel at the top of the page and fill in your mask and machine info (choose text please) so that any future questions you have can be focused on the type of equipment you have. It may take a while for your sleep debt...

No advice, only sympathy for what your mother is going through and for you, for having to watch. She is lucky to have two sons who are there for her. Your letter seems very reasonable, and I hope it gives her some effective treatment.

Re: What am I doing wrong?
I agree that your numbers are great. You should be very happy with them. My guess would be that you are catching/caught up on some sleep debt so your body isn't as tired, hence you aren't getting to sleep or staying asleep. I would suggest paying attention to your sleep hygiene and see if that helps...

Re: Any advice?
What machine do you have? Add you equipment to your profile so we can help you better. Some machines have a Leak Alarm function that will alert you if your mask comes off. You can also try taping your mask to your face with a band aid. That way if you take it of in your sleep you will get a little p...

Re: I have sleep apnea plus another sleep prob
Twokat, The Escape provides compliance data for your insurance, meaning that it will show that you are using the machine so many hours per night, so that the insurance company will keep paying for it. But for just a bit more you could have a better machine that will provide useful data, such as nigh...

Enso, Here is a link from Rested Gall that lists some machines that have, or don't have, what it seems you want. http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?p=307168#p307168 And just because it is good info, here are some more links for you: http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=17435 IMHO, the Drs asst...

Re: I have sleep apnea plus another sleep prob
Rmin, I know the topic was depression, but do NOT let them sell you an Escape! Don't take a Compact, or any Respironics with the word Plus in its name. You want an M Series Auto with A-flex, or a Resmed Autoset II or Elite II or Elite. The key is you need a fully data capable machine, one that will ...

Re: Help Please! I can not sleep
Tony, Making sure that your face and mask are clean, and that you have the right size mask and that it is adjusted properly will solve most leak problems. But if you have done all that and are still having problems, here is something else you can try. I use a product called Mack's Silicone Ear plugs...

Re: EAR PAIN
It could just be a humidity problem that you will adapt to in time. But it could be something else. Might be worth a trip to your doc or ENT to rule out an infection.
