PapCap -either one - I have one of each and have used them both and have been impressed for years.

Re: Pros and Cons of Ambien?
I have taken ambien every night for 4 years. Don't sleep all night every night, but the sleepy I do get is quality sleep. My sleep doc said with my UARS and restless legs - it is what I can use. I wake up feeling very rested and have had more energy than ever. Works for me.

Re: OT: Inexpensive Vitamin D Testing
Thanks for sharing! This is an excellent site for mag oil: http://www.transdermalmagnesium.net/magnesium.htm#mg I have it in a spray bottle and use it full strength on my arms and legs. A foot bath with 2 oz. of mag oil and enough water to just cover the instep of the foot for 30 mins will give you ...

Re: OT: Inexpensive Vitamin D Testing
Sounds like a good plan - D3 -(liquid or gels) and magnesium - do you know what a normal dose might be? Thank you so much! You can get plain Vitamin D3 OTC (make sure it's liquid or gel caps) and plain magnesium OTC. I have been taking larger-than-normal doses of magnesium for IBS for years, so I do...

Re: OT: Inexpensive Vitamin D Testing
I emailed the vitamin d council and received a very nice response - but what now? "Vitamin D3 itself is biologically inert (its metabolic product, calcitriol, is what acts in the body) and so there are no side effects caused directly by the vitamin D itself. However, excessive thirst can be a sympto...

Re: OT: Inexpensive Vitamin D Testing
Thanks - I was on the RX little blue gels for 8 weeks - once a week. Now I am taking two Viactiv chews twice a day - same excessive thirst. And it perhaps not coincidental began the week after I took my 1st RX pill. The box does not say which Vit. D (Edit - it is vitamin D 3) - need to research this...

Re: OT: Inexpensive Vitamin D Testing
I was just retested - and level went up - but not to quite to minimum level. Go back in 3 more months. Rooster - I wondered that - but my cpap has not changed - I use a pap cap, nasal mask, humifider - but this thirst business started 1 week after starting the vitimin d supplements. Did not take the...

Re: OT: Inexpensive Vitamin D Testing
I am kind of jumping into this thread - I was dx with severe low Vitamin D and took the 8 week course of RX pills. Told to go on 1,000 units per day for maintenance. However, I have had extreme thirst since being on either supplement - RX or OTC. I have always had to "remember" to drink my 6-8 glass...

Re: Women: Please help me design a female-oriented PAP-Cap
My ideas in general - female or male: Smaller cap for smaller heads! (Mine is still too big - it is still the best on the market!)
Longer "tail" - re - my original pap cap had a longer "tail" - which actually helps me adjust it once I have it on -
I would appreciate a pastel color!

Re: Update re software for PR System 1 machines
Thanks Hawthorne for passing on this information! This is what I know (which is very little) I was up for a new machine - and the sleep center ordered a M series apap. Never heard from them - so I finally called back - Went in Wed and they had the new PR System. The RT was late for my appt because s...

Re: Don't know what you've got until it's gone....
Sleepyred - So you really like it that much? I am looking for a pillow to use but have hesitated with the regenesis because of a previous bad experience with a buckwheat pillow (pre-cpap). Why do you think it works so well? Marietjie - And three very handsome men at that! This is my 1st experience ...

Don't know what you've got until it's gone....
Whew - I have been using Bret's (pur-sleep) http://www.pur-sleep.com/ Regenesis™ Pillow for a few months now. I took it on vacation and LEFT it at the hotel where we were staying! To make a long story short - that was back in October! I called the hotel the night we got home, they found my pillow an...

Re: Will You Get the Swine Flu Vaccine?
I get a flu shot every year. Knock on wood - have not had the flu in 15 years. Okay - so the week before labor day, my son gets sick. H1N1 - yep he caught it. I caught it on Tuesday and was out of work an entire week. Well, it was the flu - stayed in bed, drank lots of fluids, took my advil and am f...

Re: UARS and CPAP trial
I have been a mouth breather all my life at night. I tried taping, full face masks, and every chin strap on the market. I also have UARS and have been on cpap therapy since 2006. But what finally stopped me from mouth breathing all together is PAPCap™ PLUS - a headgear and chin strap all in one. htt...

My hubby said this:
"you can't see it when the lights are out. It will come off.... And when you sleep, my dear - so do I!"
