Re: My husband just returned from HIS sleep study.
I hope he appreciates what you did for him by making the appointment. Do you think he will actually use the machine or balk at it all? Men can be so very stubborn where their health is concerned sometimes. They are men and invincible.

Re: Hurry Up and Wait -- A Gripe (As Usual)
I also agree that the afternoon nap is a way of your body telling you it is tired and needs to rejuvenate ( can't spell today) but yes I would also use the machine. I too have to do the nap thing on occasion. I do not always hook up as I will sleep on the couch, giving instructions to my husband to ...

Re: Nostril Issue
I use velcro on my headgear when it starts to wear out. Works like a charm.

Re: Swapping out a mask with DME
My DME wants their mask back pronto. At my last mask time I wanted to try the Opus instead of my usual Swift LT for her. As we were leaving the rt's office she started to say something about hoping it worked out since I could not return it……… before she was even done speaking I spoke up and said I w...

Re: Nostril Issue
Thanks for the replys. This was a new set of pillows and I make sure nothing is inverted. I will try that adjustment with the wheel to see if it helps. I have been using one of my nasal masks just to get a couple of better nights since I was wearing down with those awful numbers. I am not a newbie b...

Nostril Issue
I have had this issue for several weeks now. I have tried everything I can think of to fix this and so far nothing is helping….. I use the Swift LT for her with up until lately has been working great. Now, however I cannot keep the one side of cushion in one of my nostrils. I did try going up a size...

Re: Am I stuck with my machine
I did go over the sleep doctors recommendation for a plain old cpap. I went to my regular doc and explained what I wanted and he cheerfully wrote me a new script. I returned and fired the first DME and went elsewhere but I was only about 10 days into therapy.

Re: just shoot me
Just to reassure myself, I turn one side of the tape over to make a little handle like deal. That way if I need it off quickly I don't have to feel around for the tape ends. It will get better. A lot of people do use a full faced mask. A little hint is that they are a little harder to keep a seal si...

Re: Ventilator Sleep Study - Reports to Ask For???
Although as I have said before I don't really know about vents but I think if you just ask for a copy of the entire detailed report, that should give them a clue. Tell them you do not want just the summary report but it all. Hopefully someone who is more knowledgable than in will chime in to give yo...

Re: Uncomfortable experience with the DME at the sleep lab
It certainly sounds as if this practice is joined at the hip and expect patients to agree with everything because we are ignorant right? I started out in the exact situation except that the actual sleep doc was in another state. Everything was done by fax. I could not get them to change my prescript...

Re: snoring
Either your mask is leaking big time. Or you are mouth breathing and need to address that….. or your pressure is not high enough on your machine. Could be one thing or a combination of everything.
