Re: Does EPR truly lower Central Apnea?

I'm a rare visitor hereabouts, however this is a topic of interest to me. I recall reading, maybe from here, that when one uses APAP, the lower pressure needs to be increased (I think) 1 cm for each level of EPR. I use an EPR of 1, and I did increase my lower APAP setting by one from my original tit...

Traveling and forgot headgear - solution worked

Hi All, occasional visitor Captain Midnight here with a problem and a solution that you might find useful, or at least interesting. Background: I've been an xPAP patient since 2005, I travel a bit, and I've never forgotten to bring any of my xPAP kit when on the road. Until yesterday. I somehow negl...

Re: Researchers interested in hearing your Sleep Apnea journey!

I rarely do surveys as they are inevitably too long and usually do not permit written responses. I have not looked at yours, but here is a little info you might find useful. I was skeptical about xpap therapy a dozen years ago, but tried it anyway. I hated it at first, however I adapted to it within...

Re: Phillips Respironics DS1 Test Results are in

Occasional (rare, actually) visitor Capt Midnight here with an observation and opinion. I was a happy user of the DS1 and when the recall happened, I chose to continue using my machine. (I never use O3 cleaners, and I never even heat my humidity.) No health or irritations issues then or now. As one ...

Re: OSCAR data gone (zip, nada)

Pugsy, I was checking that very thing, and found the profiles tab in a different folder. (I was trying to reorg file folders last evening.) I moved the folder back to OSCAR folder, and nothing happened. Next, I reloaded Oscar, and voila! All better now. So, sorry for the false alarm, and thanks much...

Re: OSCAR data gone (zip, nada)

I think quite safe. I have 2 different security programs in addition to what Microsoft supplies, and I don't go to questionable sites or bite on clickbait.

I might need to reinstall OSCAR and start anew.

All comments and suggestions welcome. Thanks.

OSCAR data gone (zip, nada)

Hi All!

Occasional visitor Capt Midnight here with a question for you OSCAR experts.

This AM I fired up OSCAR only to find that I have no data. It wants me to set up a profile.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks and Regards ... Capt M

Re: Important: When they send a DreamStation2!

If you do get a replacement machine i suggest you wait a year or more to send the recalled one back. Be just as slow as Phillips is when it comes to our health. At present, I have no intention of sending my old machines (DS and GO) back. I doubt that they have any issues (I've never noticed any sig...

Re: Oscar and Windows 11 - - Any Issues?

With no comments to the contrary, ( and after ensuring that my Oscar app was the latest v) I went ahead and downloaded Windows 11, then installed it.

No issues with Oscar or any other program.

Hoping that this is useful to a few forum members.

Oscar and Windows 11 - - Any Issues?

I was just about to update my Surface laptop from Windows 10 to Windows 11 and then the question occurred to me...

Will Oscar and Windows 11 play well together?

I assume that they will, but it seems like a worthwhile question to this fine forum.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Phillips Device Replacement

If you get a replacement Dreamstation 2, drag your feet on returning the recalled unit. Treat Phillips like they are treating us. The more I learn about the DS 2, the less I'm inclined to accept it. The memory card is apparently a pain to access, and, it does not work with Oscar. Why would I ever a...

Re: Did you get your flu vaccine?

I have never gotten a flu shot and don't ever plan to. Have heard too many horror stories from those who have. I've had a few bouts with the flu over about 50 years and have survived. I could probably count them on one hand. I figured that "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger". The last time ...

Phillips Device Replacement

Hi Folks! Occasional visitor Cpt Midnight here, with what might be old news and a comment. Phillips, in an email I just received, says that they now have FDA approval to initiate the repair and replacement program for the affected paps (and other) machines. The process will occur over many months. T...

Well, I happen to have an acquaintance with the science of Toxicology, and I agree with your point CG. Wondering if you’ve had a chance to read everything and reach any conclusions. Maybe your knowledge of toxicology will provide an answer to a question about the offgassing issue. Can there be offg...
