So one 7 hour episode gives SNI 1/7?
Such a person is better off than 7 different episodes, say 1 min each = 7/7min = 60?

Re: AHI vs. Snore
Number of snores?
There is just number of snoring episodes longest of which is 11.8 mins.
I don't think that could be it. If I snored through the whole night, number of snoring episode would be closer to 1/8.
As if I didn't snore at all.

Would BiPAP be right for me
I've benn on CPAP (12cm) for about 3 weeks now, and all the time I've been a lot more tired than before the sleeping turbo. They (sleep study) told me that they were worried of my hypoventilation. Does that mean that besides my Apnea (AI 20) my hypopnea is bad (HI 16)? Could APAP be better, or maybe...

Re: O2 Levels...How low is too low?
I guess 59% is close to "near death" experience .
Mine is considered hazardous and it doesn't go below 80.
My doctor said that I have high CO2 tolerance, so if my condition advances, say 10-15 years,
and if I had a bigger surgical operation, I might not wake up.

Re: So how does anybody get any sleep around here?
I guess you got it: >>Now this makes sense to me. When I did my apnea simulation I thought, "Man, nobody could sleep through that and the adrenalin release >>would keep you up for hours." >>I guess what I don't understand is, how can anyone get any sleep at all with an AHI of 5? It's like some cruel...

Good thoughts from Finlad too.
I have seen a glimpse of what it is, when it looks like terrible things piles up on the same people like
nothing were enough.
Try to stay strong.

Very interesting indeed. Some actual numbers to get some sense of the magnitudes.

Well, I sometimes snore while still awake (almost falling into sleep) - I can hear myself snoring.

Re: snoring with cpap
I wonder if the settings are OK.
Should't snoring cause enough flattening to be interpreted as hypopnea?
Maybe the flattening threshold is set low.
What do you think?

Re: How to read the reports
Here is a thread where I asked about reading the sleep study report. I guess it mostly applies to reading machine data. At least I seem to
understand the machine data now. Especially Snoredogs posting was quite informative.

Re: Dissappointing doctor
I feel for you. I am going through something similar. I don't think I could tolerate a doctor that does not give you the respect you deserve. I switched doctors in a heartbeat myself. I think med schools need to start requiring courses in people skills. God knows there seem to be a good many of the...
