Re: OT need prayers

I will continue to keep your son-in-law and your whole family in my prayers. Hang in there, God is in charge, even though it doesn't seem like it and he does answer prayers.

Re: Dropped 20 lbs apnea numbers have improved.

I lost a lot of weight and my pressure went from 9 down to 5. If I lose the last 30 I'm hoping I can try stopping the machine since my pressure is so low. Dr. said I can try but I think I still do better with the machine than without it.

Re: Losing weight lowers the air pressure number??

I lost 60lbs. and my pressure was lowered from 9 to 5. I set my range now from 4 - 9 and my 90% is 5.1. Dr. even wanted me to try without the machine since my numbers are so low. Keep in mind that I started with very mild apnea that was probably weight related. I still sleep better with that little ...

Re: whistling machine on inhale. suggestions?

When my mask does this it usually means I have water droplets somewhere in the mask. Check and make sure its dry and also turn down the humidifier setting if you are getting rainout. Hope this helps.

Re: Pressure of 4 cm - Subtherapeutic?

I also have a pressure range of 4-7. My 90% is around 5.1 so most of the time I'm below that. I breathe just fine at 4. Don't worry, you'll be fine.

Oh, you poor thing, I feel for you. Prayers are going up as I type this. I have been sick too and also fell and injured a rib,had an abscessed tooth also, so I know how you feel. Hang in there and hopefully you will start to feel better. It just beats you down when so many things come at you at once...

Re: POLL: What is your current 90/95% or constant pressure?

Do you need a script for that progesterone? I guess I would have to come off the Hormone Replacement pills first, as I think they have progesterone in them. I'm at my wits end. I am pretty sure my sleep issues are hormonal. All I get is " we don't sleep as well the older we get and menopause causes ...

Re: POLL: What is your current 90/95% or constant pressure?

Hey Bev, I lost the 60 lbs around 2 yrs ago doing Weight Watchers. I still need to lose another 20. I'm actually sleeping worse than when I was heavy, go figure. Went on HRT to see if that would help. Not much. Went to Dr. they lowered pressure to 5 per my data on card. I can breathe fine at that lo...

My 90% pressure stays right around 5. Used to be 9 but lost 60 lbs. and now pressure needs much reduced.

Re: Should I get re-evaluated?

Yes, you should. I started mouth breathing for some reason, after I lost weight and my pressure requirements went way down. You could be mouth breathing because your pressure is too high now.

Re: it seems a bit unfair (menopause/hormone insomnia)

I am almost 10 years into menopause so don't know if things will change anymore or if this is all there is. The longer past menopause I get the worse my sleep gets. My apnea is actually mild and losing weight has improved it immensely. As my apnea and weight got better, my sleep got worse- go figure...

Re: it seems a bit unfair (menopause/hormone insomnia)

I have the same problems and went on HRT. It helped at first but now I am waking every 2 to 3 hrs again. I'm at a loss as what else to do. I hate to think for the rest of my life I won't get a good nights sleep. Sorry to give bad news but maybe someone else can chime in with some help. If HRT doesn'...

Re: Quattro headgear question

I always order the small Quattro and the small headgear. The medium comes standard so you have to specify you want the small headgear or you won't get it. I found this out the hard way when they changed it and I received the medium headgear and small mask. They charged insurance for new headgear eve...

Re: New Problem after almost 2 years

You should do both, get retitrated and check mask size and style. After I lost weight my pressure needs were greatly reduced. Using too much pressure was causing my mouth to open but I decided to go with a FF mask and can tolerate it. When I get sick of the FF I switch to my nasal mask but always wi...
