Re: DOT-can my primary care physician write letter
I am very curious to find out what your experience was with this. I am also looking into whether a GP can write me a compliance report for my CDL. The last time I was at the sleep Dr for a compliance report (a couple years ago as I have not needed a medical card again until now), they said that they...

Re: Bruxism ( teeth grinding and clenching) solutions?
We received the nightguard (that I mentioned above) 9 mailing days (11 days counting two Sundays) later and it fits her perfectly. My wife is very happy with it and said it is nothing at all like the boil-and-bite store-bought guards. Give them a try!

Re: Bruxism ( teeth grinding and clenching) solutions?
We have not received it back yet (will try to post about the results once we do), but my wife ordered a custom guard from teethnightguard - dot- com. They sent us (within two days of my order) a kit that will make a mold for them (they are a dental lab) to make her a custom-fitted night guard. The k...

Re: Cleaning CPAP
I am guilty of not washing (or replacing items) nearly as often as most folks on here (and no I don't get sick from it lol). I alternate between three different masks and machines, with one at home and one at each of my two workplaces (24 hrs on duty and get to sleep at night). I usually just wipe t...

Re: Is it possible to sleep on your side with a full face mask?
I am the same as Jan and LSAT, staying on my right side. For a while I would roll onto my back regularly. I had to train myself to stay on my side with a "hump" on my back (fanny pack full of tennis balls around my chest). It might be about time for a refresher course now that I think of it, as I ha...

Re: How long did it take before you knew cpap worked?
Those people who see marked improvement the very first night....you all are very lucky. Most people have to work at it much longer and we turn pea green with envy when we read about someone who woke up after first night feeling like a new person. I do count myself EXTREMELY lucky for that. Heck, af...

Re: 1 week with success, questions and frustration
how do I resolve leak issues that occur that I am not aware of during sleep? Depends. Do you stay in one position during the night (side, back, etc)? And do you move from that position during the night (or do you know, or spouse know)? Some leak issues can be from tightening straps TOO tight for so...

Re: How long did it take before you knew cpap worked?
How long? The first night of the first sleep test! I was also one of those fortunate few that noticed results from the first night. When they woke me from my sleep study I asked, "How soon before I can have one of those?" They got me squared away with one that afternoon and I slept with it that nig...

Re: Would Reverse Osmosis Water Work?
Thanks guys! Jamis - This filter says it actually drops it down to 0 ppm. It has a 5 micron sediment filter, then an activated carbon filter, then the RO membrane, and lastly a de-ionized filter. It is a neat little portable unit (you can see it on eBay at the link in my first post). JohnB - I don't...

Would Reverse Osmosis Water Work?
Would Reverse Osmosis Water Work in my humidifier tank? I had to buy a reverse osmosis system (link below) for another reason and I wondered .... would this water be pure enough for my humidifier tank? It would pay for itself over time if it would work, as I would not have to buy anymore distilled w...

ycartf, you're a good person. Indeed, he is. Tracy, it's nice to see you posting, again. Thanks, but honestly I'm an average person at best haha (the whole "there is none good, no not one" thing). I have been guilty of not posting (or really even coming on the forum much) because everything has bee...

I have a Resmed S8 "Compact" (no frills, no data) that still works. It has 5778 hours on the motor, has the humidifier, and is all clean. It was still working fine when I stopped using it (to use ones with data) a couple years ago. I'm willing to let you have it for free if you'll just pay shipping....

My mask is not too small .... according to the fitment chart .... and the way it fits and feels on my face. I love my Quattro.

Has anyone else experienced this? (from using FFM)
I noticed a few months back that I had a thickened area of tissue inside my lower lip, halfway between the lip and the gum attachment. It was dense and did not have as much feeling as the surrounding tissue. I noticed it one day when I had to shave with a blade after misplacing my electric razor, wh...
