Re: My cpap air is too cold
Is the heat turned up on the humidifier? The water should be warm when its on.

Re: CPAP and RVs
I've done a fair amount of RV'ing with respironics cpap's. I use the humidifier as a passover and I've found the gauge and length of the DC wires make a big difference. One of may trailers had the batteries at the back and my bed at the front, about 25' away. I used to get 1 night with the manufactu...

Don't be too quick to write of a full face mask. Think of it as a tool to help you adjust as It doesn't have to be permanent and they can come in handy during colds and allergy season after you switch to a smaller interface.

Re: Lung irritation - detergent odor
Hmmm, cleaning the cpap. Ten years ago I used to clean everything weekly if not daily, now not so much. In fact I not think I've ever cleaned the tank in my primary machine as I use distilled water and there is nothing to clean. My travel machine tank does have to soak periodically in a vinegar wate...

Re: New CPAP user struggles - don't know what to do
Its been a while for me but I remember this struggles. The chinstrap drove me nuts, what ended up working for me was a F&P full face mask. Even then I kept tightening the straps and the leaks were really bugging me, it wasn't until I started loosening the straps that it all started coming together. ...

Re: RE-EVALUATION AFTER LOOSING 40lbs
I;m with SewTired, if I were in your position, I would skip the $1k sleep study. Ask the doctor for prescription and get an auto machine from an online supplier such as our hosts. That should be in the $400 to $500 range. Then I would start zeroing on the ideal pressure, probably starting with a ran...

Re: CPAP on an RV trip/powering it
For 2 nights I use a battery, deep cycle if available but I've used a car battery for 2 nights without an issue as long as I don't turn on the humidifier or heated hose. I tend to sleep 6 to 7 hrs a night. I also use Respironic equipment so I don't have to deal with a 24v converter.

Re: shorter tubes?
Are you sure you want a shorter hose? I don't move around a lot but I occasionally roll over and pull the machine with a 6 foot hose.

Re: Value of REMstar Auto With C-Flex with heater/humidifier
Just to speak to the value of the machine. Ask for $50 and settle for what ever you can get. They are tough machines but several generations out of date. I have picked up a couple that people were giving away and I paid for the shipping.

I'd use a 10 amp fuse. If you start blowing them, go with a slow blow fuse.

Re: FYI: Canadians, get taxes/duties refunded on imported CPAPs
I have been charged tax's a couple of times, but both times were on small orders and it wasn't worth the effort to reclaim the tax's paid. I did take it up a couple of levels with the post office and found out the front line people do not have the authority to adjust the tax payments.

Re: I think I might like to go back to a straight pressure
My home machine is an auto, but my travel machine is straight cpap so I switch back and forth regularly with no issues.
