Re: OT: Paula Deen
You have to be careful with broad general statements. I have tried low carb and it threw me into lethargy. Low carb does not give me enough energy to keep up my heavy weightlifting sessions and distance running regimen. I eat a lot of carbs but balanced with a lot of protein and a fair amount of fat...

Let me add that this was very confusing to me at first. Take some time, read the forum, ask more questions and slowly you will develop an understanding and be able to get control of the situation.

Re: 425St advice needed
Sorry, I don't have experience with central sleep apnea. You may need a specialized machine. Go to your original post and click on edit. Then change the title to "Machine for Central Sleep Apnea?" This should get the attention of members experienced with CSA. Also clarify "rate of 5.8". Is that the ...

Here are some examples: http://www.aerostich.com/hadwear-head-scarf.html That is just to give you an idea - look at image 6. I don't know the brand I use and there is no label on. Some of these may be too warm. Make sure you get a lightweight one made of wicking polyester - they last for many years....

Re: Hair thinning
Go to a motorcycle shop and get one of those headcoverings that the bikers wear under the helmet. I wear one every night. It is very lightweight, cool, and wicks moisture. I don't even feel it on my head.

Re: how do you get over the fear:
There is the thought from drs that SA is what caused everything to happen, but we don't know for sure. Your doctors are smarter than most. You have gone through the worse and survived. Put the fear behind you. CPAP will be a blessing for you. Embrace it, take control of it, and experience all the g...

Re: Could a Pulmonologist be my next step?
What you really need is a mask that works for you. If you are a mouth breath and chin straps don't work for you, then you probably need a full face mask (ffm). Go to your dme or you sleep doc and insist on trying other masks. Ditto. Seems I have read on here that some DMEs have a 30-day trial - if ...

Just a matter of time before someone says it, so I will go ahead:
You are more likely to be killed in a car accident driving to the store to buy the tape.
