Airsense 10 APAP -- "Motor Life Exceeded, contact care provider" message, Also ? about Sleepyhead

My Airsense 10 APAP for Her machine has been in operation for about 5 years--WOW, the time has flown. I decided to update my Sleephead and Rescan software data today and noticed that my machine has a message: "Motor life exceeded, contact care provider." As far as I know, my A10 machine has been wor...

Re: Airsense 10 Humidifier Tank Running Dry

Hello I am a new member but I am having problems with Airsense 10 Humidifier Tank Running Dry... I’ve had it for about four months and have the setting as low as it will go and I still run dry of water before I wake and the reservoir metal appears over heated with residual chalky dry stuff on surfa...

Study for New Sleep Apnea Treatment Looking for Participants

For anyone with moderate or severe sleep apnea who may want to participate in a study for a non-CPAP treatment, check out: http://www.thnstudy.com/ I don't know anything about the study other than the information on that page. I am not affiliated with the institutions doing the study. The informatio...

Re: Airsense 10 Humidifier Tank Running Dry

] I'd guess that you're either inhaling a heck of a lot of water vapor or, you have serious leakage somewhere and the water is going there instead of into your body. I'd feel like I had double pneumonia if I used up a whole tank of water in one sleep period ! (7-8 hrs.) If that high level of air hu...

Re: Airsense 10 Humdifier Chamber

Curious though...is it okay during the summer or do you run out of water during the summer also? During the summer, the humidifier tank was about 7/8 empty at a humidity setting of 5 or 6, with 8 being the highest. I had central air with 0% humidity on the AC unit, the same air ducts as my heat use...

Re: Airsense 10 Humdifier Chamber

I have also taken a glance through the Apnea Board postings but have not posted there myself. I saw a number of postings there regarding humidifier water on the A10 not lasting through the night once winter weather started. I am not the only one having a problem with the A10 humidifier chamber. How ...

Re: Airsense 10 Humidifier Tank Running Dry

We have this problem with a number of folk who have the Humidity Setting on "automatic". Once humidity is no longer on automatic all improves. 2 cents from Canada. My humidity level has never been set on automatic. It is set on 5 or 6, with the highest available level being 8. I used to run my PR S...

Re: AirSense 10 vs S9

If your Airsense is noisier than the S9, I would consider returning it and asking them to replace it. Mine is dead silent. The only sound is from the mask or the hose when I roll over on it. My A10, when set on Auto/APAP setting, was noisy in that every inhale and exhale was audible. I recently swi...

Re: AirSense 10 vs S9

Check the specs, you'll see that both humidifier tubs hold same amount of water - 380 ml I have an Airsense 10 for Her and an old PR System one machine. I just measured the ACTUAL capacity of both humidifier tubs. Both hold 325 mls. of water. I cannot add even a ml more to the A10 unless I want rai...

Re: Airsense 10 Humdifier Chamber

I don't have an issue with the size of my humidifier chamber, but my house is very well sealed, and my pressure is only 9 cmH20 making the amount of vent flow fairly minimal. I have heard on this board several complaints of the chamber running dry at night. How many people have reported this to Res...

Re: Airsense 10 Humidifier Tank Running Dry

Several people have responded to your threads with what is most likey the solution. You need to increase the humidity in the room you are sleeping in by adding a humidifier to the room. I mentioned a room humidifier as a possibility in my first post. I suppose my question is "What length of time ar...

Re: Women and ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset (not For Her)

After weeks of going back and forth with doctor's office and DME (literally calling each one every day), I finally have an appointment with DME on Friday to get my CPAP (auto). I talked to the RT and she said that they only offer the ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset or a Respironics REMstar Auto (not sur...

Re: Airsense 10 Humidifier Tank Running Dry

You can add a humidifier to the bedroom. I wouldn't mind having a bigger tank Based on my experience so far, I think the Airsense 10 should come with a larger capacity water tank. It is not the coldest and dryest it will be this winter. Winter has just started here. I was using water at an alarming...

Re: Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful for the Internet (to keep in touch when everyone I know is far away), a warm house and for CPAP, even though I am spending the holiday in bed with severe flu/bronchitis, in part thanks to my Airsense 10 for Her humidifier tank drinking water as if it was booze, a fu...
