Re: ahi up, ahi down, ahi up, ahi down

Increasing your min pressure a little (1 or so) will help to stabilize (and lower) your AHI. oh, i'm sorry, ted. i sort of "tricked" you into that suggestion. originally, i made three posts, the last showing more graphs, plus i typed out some things about my therapy. for whatever reason, the third ...

Re: Over a month on CPAP, AHI 20.53

CSR isn't a 'rattling sensation', it's a waxing and waning of breathing with central apneas in between the breaths. Well, call it what you will. I felt a weird sensation, and wondered if it might be Cheynes Stokes, since I knew I'd had that about a week ago and some people refer to it as a rattle. ...

Re: 6 months into perfect therapy - just as tired

"followup" study I had did include PAP Get a copy of the summary of this study. It's usually one to two pages long. Let's discuss it. It would be good if you would remove the identification and post a copy here. I'll see what I can do. I can remember it ruling out UARS, restless leg syndrome, and e...

Re: 6 months into perfect therapy - just as tired

You feel like you are sleep deprived and your AHI is low thanks to PAP. A low AHI does not guarantee sound sleep.
I would have a sleep study with PAP so that the quality of your sleep can be fully assessed (stages of sleep, arousals, …).

Re: Over a month on CPAP, AHI 20.53

So sorry, didn't register those! No problem. There's no way anyone can keep everything someone has said in earlier posts straight when one is typically reading from many people's situations. And once a thread gets several posts long, most of us probably just read the last few posts rather than read...

Definitely go to 11. Your OSA is improving but you are not there yet.

Differences in APAP algorithms

The algorithms are proprietary (and evolving) but if you find any good information regarding insights or comparisons, please post links. Here is a comparative study that clearly shows the superiority of ResMed AirSense over Respironics System One in dealing with a similated patient with a high press...

Re: Still kind of tired after two years of CPAP

Still too much OSA. Need to continue to increase the min. It looks like 11 will do the trick (try 10 first). In my experience, setting the minimum pressure within 2 of the 95% IPAP is what's needed for this machine.

Re: Not sure what to do next

Thanks, the question was related to hygiene. How do I know how it was cared for? This seems logical, but I'm not a medical expert. Relevance to my question doesn't involve value or price, I was clear about that. Clean equipment if you are concerned. Bleach is king - good enough to kill Ebola. If mo...

Re: Not sure what to do next

Buy this machine from this forum member and don't take too long to make up your mind because it won't last long. So is a used machine safe? I don't know much about this stuff... Money isn't the issue here, it's my lack of knowledge relating to this. I do want to try a different machine and new mask...

Re: Not sure what to do next

For the sake of your health, sanity, family, … you MUST treat your sleep apnea. Options are PAP or Inspire. If PAP, you must have a machine with full data capability. Auto is preferred and only a little more expensive. I bought a new auto a year ago for $450. You will need to use sleepyhead to revie...

Re: Treatment going well so far

Also please chime in if you think there is an adjustment that should be made, gradually going up from 6.0 to 8.0 has lowered my AHI quite a bit. I feel the dreamwear mask needs a little more pressure than the full mask I started with. Thanks You are doing great - congratulations. Setting your minim...

Re: Happy Anniversary to me.... :D

Your session times look painfully short (for me at least). Are you fully rested, or are you ripping the mask off and going back to sleep?

Re: High leak rate but low AHI

I use the P10 nasal pillows and right now my leak is at 31%. There are times when it goes down to 22%. All my other stats are very low. Should I be concerned? I once went to my provider (Apria) when it went to 30% but the respiratory therapist I saw told me not to worry about it unless it goes past...
