Re: Melatonin Dosage

Microdosing melatonin works best for me. If I take 3mg+, I fall asleep fine, but wake up multiple times throughout the night wide awake. I've read that larger doses may inhibit your own production of melatonin. I'm not a doctor so don't quote me on that! I take 300mcg (micrograms), so 1/10th the us...

Re: Melatonin Dosage

I go back and forth between doses because none of it seems like it does anything for me other than helps to get to sleep quicker. 10mg seems like it may only work for an hour because it does nothing to keep me from waking up many times a night. I'm just figuring out I likely have rem sleep disorder...

I have been taking 5mg for a couple years....it helps me fall asleep, but not stay asleep. Over the past few years I have averaged 6-6.5 hours a night.....but...The older I get, the less sleep I seem to need.
Thanks. 5mg seems like a more common dosage.

Why not try a smaller dose. I ta'ke 1.5 mg/night and more leaves me with a slight hangover needing more coffee next day.
Thanks. I may try 5 mg and adjust from there.

Melatonin Dosage

Hi All. I think that this whole COVID pandemic has affected my sleep, as it has many of us. I talked to my regular Doc (Not a sleep specialist) about the possibility of trying Melatonin. He said there "wasn't a down side to it, so give it a try". We didn't discuss dosage amount, but I grabbed the fi...

Re: Do Any of You Have More Than One Machine?

I have my original Respironics Remstar w/C-Flex (14 yrs old) that I keep on our boat for use when we sleep on it. I don't know how much longer it will last. I can't even find any parts for it any longer. My Resmed S9, is my spare/Travel machine. And my newest AirSense S10 is the one I keep at home a...

Re: Resmed Mirage Activa Replacement

Thank you babydino.... I am leaning towards trying the Airfit N20.... OR... the Activa LT. I have a 30 day window to return it if I don't care for either one of those. Thanks again. Hi All. I just wanted to report back that I went with the Airfit N20. It felt strange at first, since it is so differ...

Re: FREE Resmed S9 DC converters (2)

It’s camping season and I’m sure someone here would like to enjoy some camping, tenting or RV’ing. I am moving to a smaller home. Time to clear these 2 converters out of the house. (unused brand new in box) FREE plus postage. I really hate to donate them to charity, no one will know what they are f...

Re: Medicare and equipment

And my rule is NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER Trust what a DME tells you about ANYTHING. Always check--with Medicare, his insurer, his doctor, us before believing what they tell you. Their goal is not to provide the best therapy for your dad, they are in the business to make money. If that h...

Re: Resmed Mirage Activa Replacement

Hi All. Thanks fro all the input/replies. The DME has suggested I look at the following as a replacement to the Activa that has been discontinued: QUOTE:"RESMED AIRFIT SERIES: N30i the newest mask with the least amount of material on your face . ...

Re: Resmed Mirage Activa Replacement

The DME is telling the truth. The Activa has been removed from ResMed's website. It's still available on the cpap.com website, marked down to $69.00, although I suspect it's marked down because they're trying to clear their inventory. The Activa LT is very similar to the Activa. The main difference...

Resmed Mirage Activa Replacement

Hi All. I have been using the Resmed Mirage Activa for 13 years ow and was told that Resmed has discontinued that mask. I have sent an email to Resmed to try to verify that info to be sure the DME is not lying to me about the mask being discontinued. If it's true I ill need to find a new mask to use...
