Re: Dr. Krakow, salesman extraordinaire?
[ Motive wise, I'd have to say that the majority of doctors I've met were businessmen first, and clinicians a distant second . Mike Not to be disrespectful Mike, but I get the idea that you are more interested in the COST of your medical treatment than the QUALITY of your medical treatment. I think...

Re: Anyone use a dental retainer (for orthodontic retention)?
If you can't wear it at night, wear it for a few hours during the day a few days a week. You would be surprised how quickly the force from a full face mask can move teeth, to the point that in a few weeks your retainer will not fit.

Re: Tooth Decay
Are The Doctor's BrushPicks Toothpicks , http://www.quitsmoking.com/dental/doctors/brushpicks/index.htm , as effective as dental floss? They sure are more convenient when traveling. It's so easy to get in a private corner and quickly use the picks. They also don't seem as hard on the gumlines as fl...

Re: OT- Casey Anthony Trial in FL
Even from a punitive standpoint, Caylee's law would like only add another year or two to her sentence. You admit the law won't prevent anything, so I am correct in my assertion that it is only to make people feel good because someone will get a year in jail for not making a 911 call. If it doesn't ...

No, libertarians place great value on the law and want a country that is ruled by law and not by the whims of governmental agencies and bureaucrats. I'm glad you agree that the citizenry needs to be protected by the rule of law. Since there is no law currently protecting some of our most vulnerable...

Gary Johnson cannot be mistaken for a Conservative in any way, shape or form. He is a Libertarian plain and simple. As a real Conservative, I do share many values with Gary Johnson, but our ideologies are miles apart. Stephen Amen, Amen, and Amen! Bush grew the government, ran up the debt, failed t...

Now if you really are for conservative values, individual freedom, and our Constitution, start following the greatest candidate for President in decades - Gary Johnson, form two-term governor of New Mexico. Gary Johnson cannot be mistaken for a Conservative in any way, shape or form. He is a Libert...

Go sign a petition that has in excess of 750,000 signatures already to encourage our federal and state governments to enact "Caylee's Law", which will make it a crime to not report that a child is missing. http://www.change.org/petitions/create-caylees-law This is well intentioned but a very bad id...

Re: OT- Casey Anthony Trial in FL
Casey will get her due, it's just a matter of time. In the meantime, we can do something useful in memory of the real plaintiff in this case, Caylee. Go sign a petition that has in excess of 750,000 signatures already to encourage our federal and state governments to enact "Caylee's Law", which will...

I think what would be more interesting is to compare a freshman's class net worth with their net worth after a couple of terms. I don't know for sure, but I would bet that it would show an increase in net worth that could not be duplicated in the private sector. For instance, Pelosi, during her time...

Personally I'm not a fan of elimination of food groups or put the blame on specific ingredients rather than where I think the blame really lies: lack of moderation and lack of physical activity. Before processed sugar and high-fructose corn syrups are at high enough levels to really impact a person...

Geez, started quite a firestorm didn't I? All I was saying is that OP, not having had success with xPAP, still feeling lousy, having a history of other possible triggers to feeling lousy, having somewhat questionable sleep study results---might want to try a somewhat different approach that may get ...

Re: One person’s journey - cpap FAIL (so far) [long post]
Relief of trigeminal arousal can certainly provide relief of SDB. see http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17520795 I don't see how that abstract supports the notion that it can improve SDB. It states that trigeminal stimulation leads to arousals during nocturnal sleep, unlike olfactory stimulus, whi...

Re: One person’s journey - cpap FAIL (so far) [long post]
Questions: What is a trigeminal arousal and how do I know if I'm having them? Trigeminal arousal only refers to the hyperfunction of the trigeminal nerve and it's associated musculature, as occurs in clenching and bruxism. Clenching is forcefully keeping the teeth closed together, bruxism is forcef...
