Does anybody send their SD card to DME?

It's been a few weeks since I got the equipment, so I thought I'd scope out my stats on my own with help from you guys. But I wanted to know if any of you "send your SD card in" to the DME so they can provide the doc with the info before the first follow up?" Do your sleep docs know you monitor your...

Re: Pray for Mike

Dori I'm so sorry to hear about Mike. I can't imagine how scary it was to see him like that. Prayers for you and your family. Keep us posted.

Re: First night wearing mask more than 4 hours

Might I ask if it was involuntary removal. Do you remember removing the mask nd turning the machine off? I recall repositioning myself in bed after hanging up the hose on the bedpost, and pushing the off button on the CPAP. I'm not sure what had prompted me to initiate removal of the mask, etc. So,...

First night wearing mask more than 4 hours

I finally managed to keep my mask on all night last night. Of course it helped that I also wore it for a few hours while I was watching a movie in bed, and I used a little aromatherapy near the filter. I'm not sure what causes me to wake up in the middle of the night to take off the mask and turn of...

Re: Side sleepers please chime in

This is my first week with CPAP at home, so I'm glad to hear what works for all side sleepers! I start on my side (usually my right) but will spend some time on my back. Last night was the first night I kept the mask on greater than 3 hours...and I woke up with a stiff neck. I'm considering a trip t...

Re: The Drama with DME is over *happy dance*

I didn't ask for the Auto since I was already quite ticked when I found out they had picked out my equipment. I am not good at confrontation, and I didn't want to press my luck with the RRT. I know, I weaseled my way out of going for the gold. But I also know that I get easily emotional when I try t...

Re: Meeting with DME for the first time tomorrow

Congrats on your DME visit! I just had mine a few days ago as well. I didn't press my luck with asking for the S9 Auto since I was already a little ticked off with the drama of my experience. Let us know how things go!!

The Drama with DME is over *happy dance*

Thanks to all that responded to my posts about my distrust with the DME in regards to getting the CPAP that I want. I ended up going to another DME in town. They were very thorough with my insurance benefits...oddly enough didn't tell me I'd have to shell out $700 for a "start up cost" despite my ha...

Re: For Newbies who have gotten stuck with a brick

As usual, this is very helpful! I'm actually going to meet with the respiratory therapist with my DME tomorrow afternoon. I've fired my first DME for giving me shifty information about my benefits. I should have gone with the second DME in the first place since they called me within 1 business day o...

Re: Meeting with DME 5/23. **Yawn**

**Sorry this is lengthy...moral of the story is I requested my info be faxed to another DME in town.** Well, I called the DME this morning for one more explanation of my benefits from the person that called me earlier this week. She wasn't immediately available, so another gal got on the phone. I as...

Re: DME said no access to my data. True/False?

Thanks for the list of questions. This may be a silly question....But who the heck do you talk to when you call the insurance company??! I've called twice to verify my benefits and ask about CPAP DME benefits. I get the same scripted response..."coverage is based on medical necessity and doctor's or...

Meeting with DME 5/23. **Yawn**

I got a return call from the DME this afternoon. I'm meeting the RT on Monday morning 5/23. That was the earliest available date. I'm really bummed that I can't meet with them any sooner because I am going a little loco with being so exhausted all the time. (I fell asleep during a conference call in...
