Re: Camping/Is it safe to go a few days withiut using the CPAP M
If you're going camping with other people, I'm sure they'd be grateful if you used a CPAP rather than keep them awake with your snoring. For locations that you drive to, carrying the CPAP and a battery shouldn't be a problem. I've used a $49 jump-start battery pack very successfully with a 12-volt P...

Re: Frustrated with Vpap AdaptSV
There are two types of Resmed VPAP AdaptSV units. One is the original that only tracks compliance time. The other is the "Enhanced" model (it says "Enhanced on the display cover on top). That one tracks AHI values. . . . . Aside from the original AdaptSV not providing full data, does it provide the...

Re: machine making allergies worse
As others have said, use a humidifier; but be careful not to turn it too high--I find that too much humidity makes things worse. Also, try sinus rinses. I find them great for keeping allergy problems at bay. I use the Neilmed packets.

Re: I can't fall asleep, nothing works.
Looks like you use a full-face mask, Catherine. Have you tried something less obtrusive, like nasal pillows? That's what I use. I tried a full-face mask, but the constant leaks and "full" feeling were just too uncomfortable for me. If you want another idea for a sleep medication, I use a small dose ...

Re: Phillips Resperonics hot plate Issues
It happens; but, I doubt PR humidifiers are any less reliable than the others. I received a REMSTAR heated humidifier that just did not heat. Replacement worked fine. I have not looked into it, but there seems to be an optical link through a sensor-emitter on the bottom of the PR CPAP used to contro...

Re: Anyone hear of this new treatment?
http://www.imtheramedical.com/index.php I sent off my name and number to these people to see if maybe it can help me, since after two sleep studies, I am still unable to keep the mask on during an entire nights sleep. I yank it off and do not recall doing so. It has been 7 months since diagnosis an...

Re: Husband newer using cpap-sinus infections-help!
There is one way Cpap might be causing the infections; not necessarily by introducing bacteria but by interfering with the nose's natural mechanism for coping with bacteria, molds and other microcritters. Cpap can irritate the nasal membranes and cause inflamation, especially at first, before the pe...

Re: High pressure to overcome nasal obstruction
Whatever works for you is valid, and it sounds like you have found something that works. But, if you haven't recently, you might see an ENT specialist about possible ways to improve the airflow through your nose (if the ENT finds that it needs improving). At the time I was diagnosed with sleep apnea...

Re: Nasal Mask : What to do with a stuffy nose?
I have similar issues. When nose is stuffy, I first use saline rinses--Neilmed salt/soda packets in a squeeze bottle. If that does not work, I use a small amount of nasal decongestant up one nostril. I use the latter sparingly, both because of the rebound effect and also because I seem to do better,...
