Re: What was explained poorly when you began CPAP/BiPAP?

How to adjust my mask.

The DME did a fairly good job of explaing the machine and cleaning protocols, etc. I was using the resmed Liberty which is complex to fit (getting the tension right..). She spent a while fitting the mask and basically told me to keep it like that.

I believe in theory it would work, to a depth of 11cm. At a depth of 12.5cm, you are breating water.

Re: Ambien CR vs. the Beach Boys

here is my story for Beach Boys and sleep apnea. This is one of the several reasons I beleive my sleep apnea goes back to when I was 20. Forth of July 1980, Beach Boys performing on the national mall in washington DC. My fiance and I took a blanket and sat on the lawn, our spot right in front of a 1...

Re: Feature in Sleepyhead available?

Try graphing a 10/15/20 day moving average, that would probably give the MD a better sense of the plateau he is looking for.

Re: ResMed's New Zeo like Sleep Monitor/Analyzer

Looks like they are now accepting orders.

The FAQ mentions that it should not be used by someone on O2, but does not mention CPAP (positive or negative).

My smartphone isnt on the supported list, IPhone or Samsung Galaxy are supported, so I wont be buying soon.

Re: Loud machine; angry pregnant wife; please help!

Some thoughts on controlling noise: - my machine lives in a drawer in my bedside table. - try getting a mousepad or other soft surfece for the machine to set on to reduce noise transferred to the table it is on. - Have the machine on the floor or at least below the bed height, so that the matress is...

Re: Cpap 24 hour newbie

Daso, I'm also a scuba diver, and I had to unlearn mouth breating on the hose, but scuba certainly helped my comfort level with the whole alien on the face thing. I used a chinstrap (I like the ruby, but like mask choice it is a personal comfort thing) for 2-3 months to encourage my mouth to stay cl...

I flew international last week, Seoul South Korea to USA.

Security took my small screwdriver that I have carried in my brief case for a couple of years on many flights. No questions about my CPAP.

Re: CPAP and vacation

I have been using CPAP for 2.5 years. I have slept without it for 2hrs in that time. I regret taking that nap without my CPAP but watching NAPCAR just has that affect on me. circumstances may force you to go without your CPAP, but never intentionally sleep without it. Use it whenever you sleep: on v...

Re: Projected release date for next generation ResMed xpaps...?

The process for getting a medical device approved for global release has got to be very long and expensive. They also will not want to lead the market and make announcements before the new system is rerady because that would reduce/eliminate demand for the current product as people wait for the new ...

Re: Masks - questions from a newbie

Gary, My first question to you is are you a mouth breather during the day? That is now while you are sitting infronmt of your computer reading this, are you breating through your mouth? If you are then a full face/hybrid mask would be a likelt recommendation. If not, then a nasal or pillows mask wou...

Re: Slightly off topic: Mattress Toppers

We used a 2 inch topper to extend the life of a pretty worn materess. We got 7 extra years. When in the matress store we found a great variety of feels with different braqnds/configurations. The all memory foam matresses did feel like it was hard to roll over, we didnt have that problem with the 2in...
