Re: Colonoscopy & BiPap

I just had one done and it was mandatory that I bring my bipap to use during the procedure. He did what he needed to do while I snoozed away on good drugs. Popped the card into sleephead afterward and was SHOCKED to see AHI of 27 - ALL CLEAR AIRWAY. Why you ask? Because I was on supplemental oxygen ...

Re: Pneumothorax

That must be discouraging but try to look at it as temporary while the lung re-seals. I will bet the pulmonologist will gradually start increasing it again after a while but very cautiously in your case. I know that patience is very hard for me in situations like this so I am sending positive though...

Re: favorite full face mask?

Over the past month or so I have tried half a dozen different FFMs. Of the "traditional" types the F&P Simplus was easily the best. That said, the Respironics DreamWear FFM is by far the best for me now. Not as it came, but only after substituting the small/medium frame it ships with a large frame....

Re: Do apenas occur in everyone's sleep to somedgree?

The respiratory disturbance index (RDI) — or respiratory distress Index — is a formula used in reporting polysomnography (sleep study) findings. Like the apnea-hypopnea index (AHI), it reports on respiratory events during sleep, but unlike the AHI, it also includes respiratory-effort related arousal...

Re: An Apria Tale wilth Good Ending for Me

I had the same thing happen with Apria. Then, a month later I got a bill in the mail for the correct mask saying it was not covered by insurance. Thank God they did not have my debit card information since at the time I had closed all my credit cards. It took a couple of months and many phone calls ...

Re: Day two of CPAP, need advice/support/cookies...

Welcome manydreamsnosleep! You would think that we have great sleep docs and labs around here but sadly that's not the case quite yet. There's a lot to learn but this is the best place to learn all you need to know to manage your own treatment to get the best results you can. Just don't give up, try...

Re: Mask suggestions for active sleeper with chin-dropping problem and higher pressures

I use the Amara View up to pressures of 25 with minimal leaks and sleep on my side. Best one I have found yet. Will be trying Dreamware full face next.

Re: Circadian rhythm sleep disorder remedies?

I can't wait to retire and stop fighting with trying to function in the 8-5 working world. By Friday I'm dragging, but still can't sleep before 1-2 AM. Been this way since high school (50+ years). Hate when people say "Just go to bed earlier." I should be sleeping now but.....

My time was off too. Still said UTC-5, so changed it to America/New York and that fixed it.

Re: New dreamstation apap heated but no heated tube

My doc had to send an order to dme for a heated hose before insurance would cover it. Most times they just order "the usual" - machine, heated humidifier, hose and mask.

Re: Sleepyhead Statistics Differ from Overview

Thanks Pugsy. I'm thinking that by skipping over empty days Sleepyhead just doesn't include them in statistics figures; like they don't exist. I will try that and see if it changes the statistics figure. I don't want to take that report with me and have it show a big difference from what the doc get...

Sleepyhead Statistics Differ from Overview

I have been noticing that although the overview shows only 5 days of use in the last 7, statistics say I am 100% compliant. Should it not say 71% compliant?

I also notice in preferences there is something about skip over empty days. Is there a setting I need to change to fix this?

Thanks.
