Re: Oral masks - Found a new manufacturer!!
I am pretty interested in trying a mouth only mask if it is truly as effective. I am a very strong mouth breather at night so it may work much better for me. Still very early in my therapy though so I wont make any snap judgements about my ability to continue to use a FFM. But in looking into the O...

Re: Oral masks - Found a new manufacturer!!
I paid cash for the Oracle, but it wasn't working for me and I couldn't return it. So, it seemed like the logical thing to do.JDS74 wrote:That sounds like an excellent alternative to tape to control mouth leaks.
A little pricey though

Re: Oral masks - Found a new manufacturer!!
For those who like the Oracle idea but have issues with the in mouth protrusion, here is a link about another person's way of addressing this issue. Modifying an Oracle 452 Mask I made a very similar modification to my Oracle. I also filled the hard plastic part with Instamorph and removed the hose...

The inner seal is the best feature of the Oracle, in my opinion. I'm curious to know how well this other mask works without it.

Re: AHI/Leak Data and Nasal Pillows vs FFM
When I use nasal pillows I average an AHI above 5. When I used a FFM I average an AHI of around 2. All others things being equal I cannot determine why this is. My sleepyhead data rarely (if ever) shows a large leak when I wear the nasal pillows, so while I suspect I am a mouth breather from time t...

Re: sleep position and mask for gastric insufflation
I used to sleep with one or two pillows. Recently, I got a 3" gel memory foam mattress topper from Costco . Now I can sleep on my back without any pillows, which has helped my apnea quite a bit. I can't promise it will work for everyone, but it's worth considering. Costco has a great return policy, ...

Re: Weight Loss and rid sleep apnea?
I asked my sleep doctor about this. He said it usually takes a 20% reduction in weight to reduce the needed CPAP pressure by 1. So, yes weight loss can help sleep apnea, but don't expect miracles from it. Of course, your actual results may vary.

That card doesn't have the necessary WIFI hardware built in, so it wouldn't work.Guest wrote:Would you know if this card will work? It is a Class 10.

That sounds like a great idea! Can you please provide a brief overview of how your program works? Why does the SD card need to be class 10?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: My experience with the Oracle 2
Control III disinfectant from our host, cpap.com, lists MRSA as one of the things it kills. It might be worth a good soak of everything. Read the directions. The undiluted concentrate is somewhat nasty, but the diluted solution is not that bad. That looks like good stuff to have on hand. Thanks!

Re: My experience with the Oracle 2
It sounds like my case is absolutely trivial compared to your cousin's. With the ointment, it's already starting to clear up. I'm glad I got it treated before it turned into something ugly. Best wishes to your cousin and his family! That sounds painful. Started as a "bug bite" but advanced within t...

I had to reattach the Oracle headgear because it kept coming out of my mouth. Now it's working great! Re: My experience with the Oracle 2
The tiny pustules and skin crusting are a sign of mild skin pressure necrosis. I had the same problem using the nose clips. Too much pressure over too long a period of time. It resolves without antibiotics but does take time for the skin to recover. I switched back to the nose plugs but realized th...

Since the Swift/Oracle combo is still working well, I'll dump the clip. No reason to keep a culture on hand.RicaLynn wrote:Or boil the hell out of it.JDS74 wrote:If it is a staph infection, you need to dump the nose clip you used. It will be contaminated.
