Re: Charging Battery during three week long road trip.

A slight update, my original plan of using my cpap battery in place of my car battery to charge it has hit a snag. My deep cycle battery has opposite battery terminal locations compared to my car. The currently installed cables are unable to reach due to this. On to a more complicated solution! You...

Re: Charging Battery during three week long road trip.

Disconnect my cars battery and replace it with the agm before trips in truck to charge battery. Not out of the question - if you don't mind lugging 60 pound batteries around. This sounds like something I would have done about 50 years ago! Again, this might be reasonable to do a couple of times. Cu...

Re: Charging Battery during three week long road trip.

Look at getting a split charge relay fitted to your truck to charge the AGM battery when moving and solar panels to supplement when stationary should keep you going with no issues. Take a look at this link for ideas http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t114012/Choosing-a-Battery.html Jason Thank you f...

Charging Battery during three week long road trip.

This July I'm going on a road trip where I will mainly be tent camping in areas with no power. I will always have my truck by my side with a ton of drive time between sites every 2-3 days. I already have a great deep cycle agm battery that has lasted me four nights in the past. What I really need to...

Re: DC 12v cord for Phillips brand cpap

Thanks for the replies, I went ahead and ordered a new DC cord. Also side note about saying I upgraded from my system one. It was more forced than anything, my system one broke down on me. It might not be an upgrade from the algorithm stand point. There are other features I like over the system one.

Re: Think it's time for an upgrade, need advice.

Do you have any reason to think you can ONLY use an FFM ? The single thing I have ever done with regard to xPAP use was to move from a FFM to a nasal pillow. This is, however, where 'your mileage may vary' really holds true. Just because a change in mask type may be critical for some, doesn't mean ...

Re: Can someone ease my fears about full face masks

I have a story! One night I was a little intoxicated and visited my girlfriend who lives separate from me. She was being nice and put my cpap together when it was bedtime. I put my mask on and pretty quickly fell asleep, around 3 hours later I woke up and noticed something odd with my breathing. I l...

Re: Think it's time for an upgrade, need advice.

I really wish there was a way I could try more masks before I spent the high dollar on them... There is a way so you don't have to eat the big bucks the masks cost if you don't like it. Check out the masks at cpap.com.. Some have free return insurance and some have return insurance that you buy. Mo...

Re: Think it's time for an upgrade, need advice.

After 4.5 years of daily use, my Remstar died. Insurance wouldn't replace until 5 years, so I bought an identical lightly used machine from secondwind.com. When insurance allowed and I had met my deductible, I upgraded to an Airsense 10 for Her with a heated hose. I also opted to try the Fisher and...

Think it's time for an upgrade, need advice.

I have been treating my apnea now for just over five years. My treatment has been life changing. It's amazing how much your life changes after being able to get a good night's sleep. Presently I'm still using the same machine I was originally provided with (system one auto) . Along with the same typ...

Re: Without CPAP and I'm feeling it.

Hi bryanftc, When I thought I was going to be in a similar situation with my machine last year, I PMd Carolyn expressing concern about how long it would take and to make a long story short, they were going to send me another replacement out of their inventory. It turned out that I was at fault as e...

Yeah that is my plan for the future, I also just recently got some new health insurance. The insurance sounds like it's not going to be much help though, probably going to have to be all out of pocket.

Re: Without CPAP and I'm feeling it.

No they did not, but I did see it after the fact and didn't think 140 dollars for the auto cpap was worth it for something that was only going to be gone three weeks. If I had known at the time it would take anywhere from 6-8 weeks, we would maybe be having a different conversation right now. Anothe...
