Re: Incompetent DME stressing me out
Now keep in mind my experience was a couple of years ago. I was able to get InfoSmart to work for me by buying the software, around $85, then after 30 days I had to register my software as if I was the 'sleep lab', ie, my name + sleep lab, address, etc. Then they emailed me an access code. After all...

Re: HELP!
Koree17, I know you suffer cataplexy symptoms but is it possible these could be a type of seizure? Without the MSLT did the Dr use other factors to determine without a doubt the narcolepsy.. I'm only jumping in here with this question because I have narcolepsy & seizures that were thought early on t...

Re: Next on the list... a new mattress!
Dare I suggest this...... a waterbed! not to mention the goodness of a cool bed in the summer and a warm bed in the winter. put it on a captain's pedestal and you get 12 drawers of storage space too And don't forget if you get a king, there is the center 'tunnel' space behind the little doors at th...

Re: Next on the list... a new mattress!
Dare I suggest this...... a waterbed! Not just the old 70's version, but a Strobel 1900 series finished off with a pillow top SensaSak. My setup only works if you have a wooden waterbed platform. Strobel also has soft side waterbed mattresses. I can't vouch for these but they look just as comfortabl...

Re: Frustrating visit to the dr regarding asthma. Dejected.
Ryan,
Untreated asthma can be serious enough to kill. You need to see another Dr. Preferably a pulmonologist or allergy & asthma specialist. Your Dr is doing you a disservice by not at least giving you a rescue inhaler. I wish you better luck with your new Dr.

Re: Endoscopy and colonoscopy safety for cpap patients
That's one of the more dangerous aspects about medical procedures. Unless you are really careful, you may not have any idea who's going to be God when you actually have the procedure. Even if you ask, you may be given wrong information, or someone else may be deified without any input from you. How...

Re: Endoscopy and colonoscopy safety for cpap patients
In any medical procedure, there's usually a "designated God" for the procedure. This may be the surgeon, "admitting physician," etc., but he thinks he's God and no one dares challenge him. Often, the designated God has delusions of grandeur, and can't be bothered with details, and info from lesser ...

Re: Deductible
Did you pay using a credit or debit card. If so, after you request your refund & if they don't send it in a reasonable amount of time, you may be able to get the transaction reversed. Just something to keep in your mind as a backup plan.

Re: Full face masks - NONE of them work... ?
Sounds to me like your DME thinks you need a size medium, but not all masks fit the same. Also, not all faces are the same. Example, my hubby was 'judged' by his DME as a large. He is a big guy with a large head, so that sounded logical. By accident he was sent a size medium on yet another FFM that ...

O/T: Tongue Biopsy & Chewing Tongue While Asleep
OK, this is a tough topic for me to post, but my orthodontist told me today I'm going to need to see a specialist to have a biopsy on the right side of my tongue. He didn't know, until I told him the history AFTER he stated this, that I had the left side biopsied last year and the tip of my tongue a...

Re: Noobie needs encouragement
My two cents worth: Although a pulmonologist is one way to go in terms of sleep medicine, another avenue is a neurologist, preferably one who specializes in sleep medicine. If you have just plain ole garden variety Obstructive Sleep Apnea then that pulmonologist is all you may need. If you have othe...

Re: OT: Medicare Advantage
I live in Kentucky and my DME is Medsource. We dont even have Apria here There is an Apria office in Louisville, Kentucky. I fight with them regularly about my brother-in-law's oxygen. They service Southern Indiana too which is why I have to put up with them. I encourage anyone who likes a good fig...
