Re: How I prevent the back strap from slip for my mask
For example; I use the P30i and had trouble with the back strap slipping up. A great solution is to take of the native P30i strap and replace it with the Respironics Strap with Arms for their DreamWear mask. Would that arms headgear fit on the AirFit N30i? Slipping straps are giving me headaches.

Re: Nasal mask pressing and obstructing my nose
You might want to try a nasal cushion rather than, or alternating with, the nasal pillows. Some masks take either, I believe. The cushion is fantastic for me. I used pillows for 12 years and tended to get redness inside nostrils, probably visible to young people who don't have poor closeup vision. T...

Re: A gross question
However, it isn't the CPAP because when I leave home and use the same CPAP, hose, and pillow in any clean airbnb, it doesn't happen at all. So I believe it is the allergens in my own home. Let me add that the CPAP might contribute to this issue by keeping me immobilized on my back and my head ore o...

Re: A gross question
I have a similar problem, though it only takes a couple minutes of hacking to clear. I've posted about it here a couple of times. However, it isn't the CPAP because when I leave home and use the same CPAP, hose, and pillow in any clean airbnb, it doesn't happen at all. So I believe it is the allerge...

Re: How I prevent the back strap from slip for my mask
Even though the post is old, let me jump in and offer one way to keep straps from riding up. Pull some of your hair out from under the strap, and let it go over the strap. Then it can't ride up because the hair roots are in the way.
You do have to have hair.

Re: CPAP and coughing up blood
But, as this has now happened not after a full nights rest, during a nap or after moving in sleep in the middle of the night. I think I just have an excess of mucus that is working its way down my throat, through gravity, and the cpap pressure, and then I clear my throat and it comes up, and that s...

Re: AirSense 11 AutoSet arrived, a few questions
The machine doesn't care if there's no water, does it? Unless you also turn off the heater when no water is present all night there is the potential for the heating element to do something unwanted to the water chamber. Yes I feared that, though I probably did have the heat turned off. However the ...

Re: AirSense 11 AutoSet arrived, a few questions
One bad thing is stupid water compartment design, as noted in the instructional video at cpap.com. Forget carrying it from the bathroom, much easier to keep the distilled water jug by the bed. Still not a perfect solution for how easy it is to spill it and annoy the machine. What engineering genius...

Re: Any way to make a heavy climate-control hose less awkward?
Thanks for this thread! I have the same hose but I'm coping because it goes straight up from the top of my head via the N30i (yes noisy, "breathy", but my sound machine covers it) and then through a scrunchy taped to the wall. I sleep on my back and never move. Use black photographic tape, sticks we...

Re: Hate the Auto feature, want my steady state pressure back
I use a mask with cushions, so I would select Pillows, I assume, rather than Full face or Nasal. Which nasal cushion mask? If under the nose cushion then I think it is pillows but if over the end of the nose cushion then you would choose nasal. If it is a ResMed mask it will tell you in the little ...

Yes, you can change your settings yourself. Hate the Auto feature, want my steady state pressure back
Started a new thread because this may be a "big picture" type issue that would apply to more than just my new machine, which is the AirSense 11 AutoSet. I've been reasonably happy with a setting of 6 for twelve years on my old brick. I've been VERY happy at 6 the past week as Dry January (no beers) ...

Re: AirSense 11 AutoSet arrived, a few questions
If it was me, I'd get a hose hanger and say "goodby" to messin' with the dang hose. I've used the Hose Buddy for about 15 years, and I'm well pleased with it. There are other types, and some forum members have devised their own. Sheriff Thanks, I do have a hose buddy type thing (forget the actual n...

Re: AirSense 11 AutoSet arrived, a few questions
Thanks for the helpful info, all! Regarding the water chamber, I'm used to the massive one on my old machine that took two or three nights to use up all the water in dry winter and longer in humid summer. Seems like they should have made this one a wee bit bigger, but we'll see how it goes. This is ...

AirSense 11 AutoSet arrived, a few questions
Wow! Now I know what a freaking idiot I was not to have gotten a new machine, like, six years ago. No wonder my new sleep doctor laughed at my old brick. So small, light, and quiet! One bad thing is stupid water compartment design, as noted in the instructional video at cpap.com. Forget carrying it ...
