Re: Hi Cpaptalk.com
I think the avatar you have is quite telling ... you appear to be hiding behind a costume. Would this be a drive-by attack? I will admit I am guilty of doing that to another forum. It didn't help so I stopped. Is this retaliation? I won't put words in everyone's mouth, but I believe the vast majori...

Re: Hi Cpaptalk
... we'll develop what ever workarounds we can for poor service. Why does one necessarily need "workarounds"? While admittedly this whole thing will take a while to settle out, there will be plenty of opportunities for motivated individuals to create needed, high quality services. For instance, wit...

Re: Medical mediator needed
Hence, unless Medicare has recently agreed to use (what used to be called?) the "AASM Alternative Standard" for scoring H's (the standard that scores an H with arousal even if there is no corresponding O2 desat), it is still important to make a distinction between Medicare and the AASM. You know a ...

Re: Medical mediator needed
We are all different. Sometimes that little fact is missed; by family, employer, doctor, or even the patient. What works for me may not work for you; and vice versa. This brings out the beauty of this community--it is likely that nearly anyone needing help may trigger a response from someone with a...

Re: Medical mediator needed
In support of Robysue's points: According to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services criteria for the positive diagnosis and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, a positive test for OSA is established if either of the following criteria using the AHI or the RDI is met: •AHI or RDI greater tha...

Re: Medical mediator needed
[ So if the device tells you that your RDI is 10 or even 20.... or even 30.... Then you have to understand that your actual AHI is probably some where between 5 and 15 which is perfectly normal. Last time I checked with my sleep doc, an AHI between 5 and 15 on a PSG is NOT "perfectly normal". An AH...

Re: How does CPAP work? Doesn't make sense
I hate to say it but this is a topic that is going to keep coming up over and over again. Some people do not enjoy researching. They would rather have a representative give an over simplified explanation and then cave to a counter argument. Unfortunately medicine is not as similar to the burgerking ...

Re: Medical mediator needed
I think it depends on the meaning of the phrase "get involved." A number of docs and techs and even RTs may approve of it, support it to the extent they can, and even offer helpful hints to patients about it when they can. However, I also believe that few of them have the time to train patients to ...

He can say he speaks for me.. The help and education I have gotten on this board has helped me get a good nights sleep, and now I am slowly getting my life back. And you do not practice medicine here? You do not lend medical advice to those who request it? You do not ship medical equipment to frien...

Re: Want a nearly new S9 AutoSet w/All Accessories?
Isn't this ridiculously illegal? Distributing medical devices with out a license? Geez man, don't use the postal service to do it either. You don't want to drag the feds into this.

Re: DevilBliss DV54 AutoAdjust CPAP -Help
Mr Concerned - I don't know if you will be back or not. I am wondering though - are you a doctor (maybe a Sleep Specialist) , a DME or someone from a forum that disagrees with the freedom we enjoy on this forum? I am some one who is actually from THIS forum. But it is very silly to ask some one who...
