Re: Planning to buy a CPAP but need some help

Sure - I'm not saying it's not likely to be worthwhile, by any means. They should totally attempt to get it taken care if when possible. I just wanted to point out that it isn't a guaranteed life-changing fix - especially if there's a financial decision or priorization necessary in the short term be...

Re: Planning to buy a CPAP but need some help

Also, I hate to be a downer, but... I've had two septoplasties and a turbinate reduction, and my breathing is maybe 10-15% better? The first one had no effect at all - it just collapsed back in. :-( I know for many people it's life changing, but if you have to take relatively drastic measures financ...

Free mask parts - Calgary AB

Really hoping to give these to someone in town...going to be travelling quite a bit over the next while, and lots of other stuff going on, so would really prefer not to deal with packaging/shipping. Anyway, for giveaway I have: - Small nosepiece for the DreamWear Gel Nasal Pillows mask - single-stra...

Re: Septoplasty and turbinate reduction didn't help much.

Agreed with gparr above - the sprays aren't supposed to be used for more than a few days and can have effects like you describe. Try some other solutions to try to get past the congestion - doing nasal rinses instead of the sprays, perhaps, or using breathe right strips or saline gel. If you can do ...

Re: Airfit and Nuance questions.

My husband breathes far better with the Pilairo Q than he did with either the AirFit or the Nuance. For him, it was the shape of his nose and the angle/shape of the cushions. The AirFit and the Nuance were just shaped so differently than his nose that they pushed oddly and interfered with his breath...

Re: Diet: Does this dude have it right?

Hmmm...I've got a few friends with wheat problems, but they're always the reverse of what I experienced - i.e. people feel less lethargic, clearer headed, etc... when they stop eating wheat (if they have a problem with it). Also, they have physical issues when they eat wheat, whereas I have none. Bu...

Re: Diet: Does this dude have it right?

That's what I was doing before...lots of veggies, no wheats or potatoes, good amount of fats. Good for weight, terrible for brain. For me. So far. (All the caveats I can put here...<g> )

Re: Diet: Does this dude have it right?

I've been trying a low carb diet recently, and found that it was definitely working for me to lose weight - better than any food plan or anything I've ever done. HOWEVER, I found myself incredibly lethargic, unmotivated and very fuzzy-headed. Two days ago I tried putting some carbs back in, but was ...

Re: Forum host?

Also, important to note that the prices on Canada CPAP Supply are in Canadian dollars, not US. They accidentally (?) charged me in US dollars, but when I called and pointed this out they gave me a refund for the difference.

Re: Forum host?

Canada CPAP Supply is a subsidiary or sibling or whatever of CPAP Supply USA. (Unrelated to cpap.com.) They are both physically located in the US, but Canada CPAP Supply is set up/licensed/whatever (I don't know the details) as if they are a Canadian company and are allowed to ship things to Canada ...

Re: CPAP with a cold

The sprays are definitely something he's trying to stay away from. I don't know if he reacts oddly to an ingredient or what, but he always feels like he's gotten a big jolt of adrenaline when he uses those, and usually ends up awake most of the night.

Re: CPAP with a cold

Yeah, they are. Maybe it's just something about the fit of this particular mask, though. If he doesn't see improvement with changing a-flex, we may just return it for now, and wait and see how it goes next time he gets a cold. Fingers crossed, I guess.
