Re: Stamina

I use the AirFit P10 nasal pillows. The pillows are very comfortable - almost like there isn't anything there.

Stamina

Just writing a follow-up post on stamina. When I first got the CPAP, I noticed some improvements when working out - I was able to do an hour-long karate class without needing to take a break because I was exhausted. And I was able to climb hills better and faster. But I have been lucky to have a rea...

Re: Questions about PAP therapy that never seem to get answered

For those who are paying attention I guess some questions "never seem to get answered" and Jeff is not coming back.

Is that an example of the DME being a weak link?[/quote]

I wonder if Jeff is not planning of answering questions from work, in which case, he might be back after the long weekend...

Re: Questions about PAP therapy that never seem to get answered

But what I really wonder is how long it takes for stamina levels to reach a good, steady level? In case Jeff doesn't come back (living up to the Subject of this thread) I will say that each of us is different and therfore there is no one answer. But I will also say that if your leaks are too large ...

Re: Questions about PAP therapy that never seem to get answered

Hello, I am a Registered Polysomnographic Sleep Technologist or RPSGT (as my name states) for 15+ years and I did sleep studies for about 10 of those years and I now work on the DME or Durable Medical Equipment side of sleep disorders. I see many patient's that for years upon years have been on the...

Two great nights

After about 6 weeks on therapy, I finally had 2 really good nights of sleep. At first I was sleeping well and my energy was improving, but I would wake up after 7.5 or 8 hours and not sleep any longer, even though I just had to be sleep deprived. Then I went through a 10-day stretch of misery - kept...

CPAP is great for sinusitis and asthma?

Since I started using my machine (it's been over 5 weeks), I have noticed that my sinuses are clearer than they have been in more than 5 years. And I think I might have noticed some improvements in asthma. I could be wrong, and only time will tell, but I think I developed sinusitis and asthma as a r...

Re: Titration study -

It's tough to see the downside of a range centered on your titration pressure in APAP mode but my titration was unclear ( some events even at 29 but mask issues too). But I am addicted to the " blast" so use no ramp and just use almost dry air to blow open my passages every night. We're all so diff...

Re: Titration study -

Are you using fixed CPAP pressure of 10 or a range? My APAP (Resmed S9) is set at 10-20 but spends most of its time 10-13 and has pushed my AHI down from almost 40 to under 2. I have a fixed pressure of 10, and in a month I will give the doctor all the data and he will assess if it's right for me. ...

Titration study -

After a month of CPAP use, I did my titration study last night - although my AHI in the first study was 30, during the titration, the tech only really noticed respiratory problems when I was in REM, and a setting of 10 eliminated all of them. So my prescription is for a CPAP with a continuous pressu...

Re: Waking at 3 PM, taking clonazepam

Slept from 9 to 5:15 and only woke up to go to the bathroom at 2 am. A lot better. I will never take clonazepam in the middle of the night again.

Re: Especially for newly diagnosed - Dealing with Change

In response to the discussion in the thread about an unsupportive spouse I felt prompted to revise a write up I have concerning dealing with change. We encounter changes of all sorts through life, including the one when we received the diagnosis of sleep apnea. How we respond is almost always the s...

Re: Struggling

I have now filled in all details on my profile as suggested. Hope it is OK I have tried the saline spray as suggested and it did help me get to sleep plus I haven't had the problem with the moisture again . However this morning I once again woke with my nose so blocked I could not breathe I can't t...

Re: Waking at 3 PM, taking clonazepam

Stayed awake all day yesterday and even did a really tough workout at the dojo - slept from around 8:45 to 4:40. Pretty good - I seem to be heading in the right direction. Hoping I won't feel like sh*t today. Oh yeah, and I did not get up and take clonazepam.
