Re: ENT consult *scratches head*
What humidifier setting are you using on your machine? If you're experiencing nasal congestion at night, try turning your HH down of OFF (using "passover" humidification). I've been using it since I started and it's been a huge help for me to breathe during the night. I've never been to an ENT, but ...

Re: ENT consult *scratches head*
First of all, I'm NOT looking for a way around CPAP therapy. I'm well aware that with my family hx apnea is all but inevitable, and the surgeries mentioned have less than stellar odds of improving the condition. That said, I like to make informed decisions after exploring all options, so I consulte...

Re: Best way to sterilize nasal pillow
Just wash it in a solution of Dawn dishwashing liquid and hot water and it should be fine. Anything beyond that is unnecessary.

Re: One night without CPAP and I felt better.
I just finished my first month of CPAP. Needless to say it was the worst month of my life. I felt horrible which I'm sure was due to the fact I couldn't sleep through the night even though my AHI was in check. Last week my AHI was all over the place. Anywhere from .95 to 4.6 and I was a train wreck...

Not necessarily. Sometimes little leaks can be more disturbing than the big ones......depending on how sound asleep you are.nycdug wrote:Wouldn't that show up in the leak report?

Re: One night without CPAP and I felt better.
The only symptoms of OSA I had was daytime sleepiness and even that wasn't that bad. I scored under 10 on the Epworth scale. I would never fall asleep sitting at my desk or in meetings or driving. I've had insomnia since my teens so not falling asleep or waking up in the middle of the night wasn't ...

Re: S9 Autoset Settings - On My Own
I have a Resmed S9 Autoset on order, and it's due to arrive on Friday. My sleep study called for a pressure of 13, which I figure to use for the high end pressure. What should the lower setting be? How about EPR? Are there any other settings I need to be aware of? Thanks. Wow..... Im at the same Rx...

Re: S9 Autoset Settings - On My Own
Is there a reason it's not being set up by the supplier? Does your prescription just call for a pressure of 13? If you are on your own and choose APAP it may make sense to start lower but have some room to go up if needed - maybe try 10-15 and use sleepyhead to see what pressure to actually need? W...

Re: S9 Autoset Settings - On My Own
Were you using EPR with your Escape? I know you are anxious to try the new world of APAP and I don't blame you but if it were me I would consider using the same settings as I did on the Escape for at least the first night. See what it shows. Get a starting point and work from there. If you just hav...
