Power strip on or off during day?

I've been turning the strip the machine is plugged into off everyday when I get up. When summer comes, we have a lot of lightning storms.

google : cpap pool noodle http://www.coriscouponcorner.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/IMG_20130419_011457_268.jpg it worked for me, I jammed one between the mattress and the head of the bed, best hose-keeper going. I only put the hose into about a foot of the noodle and is about 2ft above my pillow...

Do you use a humidifier? grayghost machine doesn't include a humidifier.
