Repeating Sleep studies every 5 years
My new Doctor feels that in order for her to monitor my CPAP needs she needs a new sleep study done. My Sleep Study was done 5 years ago and I have consistently monitored my data with SleepyHead. My data typically indicates that I have 0-2 apnic events per hour. I see nothing in this data to indicat...

Re: Total Newby But worried about machine making noise while inhaling
I have what sounds like an identical problem, I gave up and plan to take it back to the DME for what that is worth. The machine is about 4 years old and has been used continuously. I am lucky to have two ResMed AirSense 10s, but this inhale - whine noise certainly seems like something for the repair...

I have had that problem a lot lately. I believe I have finally solved it by turned the heat up in the room I sleep.

Re: Power Outage
I just had this problem last night. It took me about 30 min to wake up, according to the sleepyhead data. It felt as though i had extreme nasal congestion, there was certainly o danger of suffocating. if the power was out, where'd the sleepyhead data come from? also, did you die of suffocation? I u...

Re: After First Night Feeling Very, Very Relaxed
The technician told me that people with really high AHI like mine, really liked the titration part. I did not believe her, but 10 mins after it started I was sound asleep. It rather ticked me off when several hours later they woke me up, as it was the first real sleep I had had in years. Yeah.... I ...

Re: No water being consumed at night from the humidifier.
A few months ago, my wife's useage of h20 in her humidifier became essentially 0, whereas normally it has to be refilled every night (very high humidity setting). After checking the pllugs I noticed the power plug was only about 80% inserted. After fully inserting the plug normal water useage return...

Re: First Sleep Dr. visit after starting CPAP
Are RERA's included in the AHI calculation? IE... more RERA's.... higher AHI.

Re: First Sleep Dr. visit after starting CPAP
I notice the number of RERA's, it reminds me of my wife's SH data. I was, perhaps mistakenly, thinking that CPAP therapy had no effect on RERA's. I thought RERA's were a result of a COPD condition. Is this incorrect?

Re: Of those whove had brain fog.....
prior to using CPAP, describe what it felt like please. To me it feels like a pressure in front of my head, feeling of daze, detachment, like in a dream all day long. Is this similar to symptoms of sleep apnea? Thank you! At least from my standpoint, I would say that your description is very close ...

Re: US healthcare the best?
Speaking of my one time UK Healthcare experience, I was surprised when after my examination the Dr. went into another room and came out with a bottle of pills and handed them to me. I commented to him, "No prescription, No pharmacies?", his reply, "Only for complex meds, that need compounding". Is t...

Re: US healthcare the best?
How does this system compare with the US. If I was on the 'bones of my arse' (Aussie for broke) would I get this free care? Actually if you were dead broke, you might come off ok, here is the US. It's us in the middle that have a problem. I had medical care once in the UK. It was pretty impressive.
