Re: New Sleep Position is Causing Major Problems

Thank you, everyone.

I'm looking into some new pillows. And I've ordered a pillow to try between my knees. That may take some getting used to, but I definitely need to make some adjustments.

Supporting my chin sounds like a good idea too.

New Sleep Position is Causing Major Problems

Hi. Throughout my entire life, I have slept on my side. I've been using a CPAP machine for probably about 8 years now. Although I've never gotten along well with a CPAP machine, it's much worse now. I've begun developing arthritis in my hips which has forced me to begin sleeping on my back due to hi...

Heated Hose

Hi. I just had my follow-up session at the sleep centre last night and they've upped my pressure from 9 to 11. I woke up this morning feeling freezing from the cold air going down my throat and my mouth felt like the Sahara Desert.

So now I'm thinking about a heated hose. What do I need to get?

Re: I'm a little scared right now

The whole answer may have been a little more dramatic than I'd originally thought. My Mom is 87 and she's been having some breathing problems lately as well. I awoke this morning to find my Mom being taken away in an ambulance. The first thing the Paramedics said was, "You have a gas leak." I've bee...

Thanks. I kind of imagined, *sputter* *sputter* "What the heck?!" And then ripping the mask off. LOL

Power Outages

We're expecting really high winds tonight and they said to expect some power outages.

What happens if there's a power outage in the middle of the night, while you're sleeping? Does the loss of power to the CPAP machine wake you up?

Re: BiPap and Nose Bleed

I'm glad you asked that one, because I've had chronic nosebleeds my entire life. I have had one small nosebleed since I started using CPAP, when I hadn't had a nosebleed in 3 years. That upset me. But it didn't cause another one the next night. But I can understand the concern after having a large b...

Re: I'm a little scared right now

I definitely felt much better today. I was not as tired and I didn't feel so easily out-of-breath and I had a busy day. I still had a problem trying to get in a full yawn sometimes, which is a very annoying feeling. But it was much better. I hope the improvement will continue too. If it's about mois...

Re: I'm a little scared right now

Well, my blood pressure was a little high, but still within the normal range. It's not surprising with all of the anxiety that I was feeling. But other than that, my doctor was happy that I'm having another sleep study on November 6th. I thought I never wanted to have one of those again, but I'm act...

Re: But I Felt Fine Before

I'll be glad to see my doctor tomorrow, because I'm really struggling with anxiety now. Once anxiety sets in, it becomes difficult to tell the difference between a symptom and the anxiety reaction. I would imagine that if I had a blocked artery or something, they would have seen that on the echocard...

Re: But I Felt Fine Before

It took me a while to figure out where to change my Profile. I'm a moderator on a forum with this format, so I should have figured it out sooner. As soon as I finally saw User Control Panel, I went, "Duh, of course." But it was on the opposite side of the page, so it took me a while to spot it. I th...

Re: I'm a little scared right now

Thanks everyone for being patient with me. I'm new to this and am having a little difficult with it all. I just walked the dog and felt pretty winded, which doesn't usually happen. I'm doing searches and finding that I'm not the only one who has troubles breathing during the day-time since using CPA...

But I Felt Fine Before

I was so startled when they diagnosed me with sleep apnea, telling me that I stopped breathing every 2 minutes during the night. Why? Because every night I would fall asleep quickly. I slept through the night, not waking up until morning. I felt fine and refreshed. I was not tired all day. I had no ...

Re: I'm a little scared right now

I have an appointment with my family doctor tomorrow. I'm feeling really lost as to what to do at the moment. Before I was told that I had sleep apnea and got the CPAP machine, I went to bed, fell asleep quickly and didn't wake up until the morning. I felt refreshed. I was not tired all day. I didn'...

Re: I'm a little scared right now

I did go to a clinic. They said that I'm okay, but it sounds like I had a CO2 build-up in my system and my body was trying to take in more oxygen. I mentioned that I was finding it difficult to yawn when I woke up in the mornings, for about the first 10 minutes or so, and they said, "Same thing." Ma...
