Re: Follow up to TWO AirSense 10s whining

On both machines, the noise comes from the air intake area. The newer one is pretty quiet when I’m not breathing. That machine started doing this with around 200 hours on it (shortly after I got it, although it doesn’t always make the noise, so it probably came with this issue. I only tested it for ...

Follow up to TWO AirSense 10s whining

My follow up: I tried different power supplies on both machines and different outlets on different circuits. I changed hoses and masks again. No benefit. They sound very different from each other - I think they are two totally different problems. The one I’m using has a gentle whine starting at the ...

Re: TWO AirSense 10s whining

My follow up: I tried different power supplies on both machines and different outlets on different circuits. I changed hoses and masks again. No benefit. AC Bio never answered my online contact form from weeks ago, so I called. They were uninterested in any troubleshooting and didn’t even ask if I h...

Re: AirSense 10 making noise

Me too, UGH! I have TWO machines that do this. I have tried a ton of interventions and sometimes it quiets down, but it seems to have no rhyme or reason. It randomly makes noise or doesn’t for a while. It’s definitely worst near the air intake. I hope you get it figured out - I won’t have any recour...

Re: TWO AirSense 10s whining

I’ll try the lube. The sound is coming from the other side (unfortunately, I have really good hearing) and when I’ve had issues with the humidifier, I usually show a leak. What I mean by different ways to seat is that if you squeeze the tank vertically it "clicks" into the machine 2 different ways -...

Re: TWO AirSense 10s whining

I have awful luck, and I’m on my machine a long time. I have terrible sleep quality because I’m not well otherwise (not sleep apnea related) so I probably average 11 hours a day, trying to get 3-4 hours of decent sleep. I’m not near the ocean and rarely have my windows open, don’t use an external hu...

Re: TWO AirSense 10s whining

This is what it seems like to me. The humidifier seems to seat 2 different ways, which I don’t like. Noise on these units is not an uncommon problem. But how do I deal with it? I've read repeated comments about noises from air10 units that were finally tracked down to problems with the humidifier, e...

Re: TWO AirSense 10s whining

It’s under the bed and hard to get to - I know it’s a pretty high end one. It does have an alarm, which is half of why I wanted it. I need to know when the power is out if we are both on CPAPs! I’ve let it run for an hour, both machines, before starting the generator. It might go longer! You couldn’...

Re: TWO AirSense 10s whining

I’m used to squeezing and jiggling the humidifier chamber. It’s like it has 2 different ways to fit. It doesn’t sound like that sound, and when I’ve had that problem, I’ve seen a leak reported. I am using brand name filters and they fit nicely, with the door double checked and closed properly. I’ve ...

Re: TWO AirSense 10s whining

Sorry, I’m exhausted from not sleeping partly due to this. I knew I’d forget stuff. I have tried this... the machines are normally (in use) plugged into a UPS with surge protector as well. But they make noise in a different room on a different circuit, and each is using its original power supply. It...

Re: TWO AirSense 10s whining

Thanks. I can’t imagine having to ship them but I hope they can help. I forgot to mention that I use a mask with a liner and have almost no leak, so I can’t imagine this has to do with the mask. It’s also much louder the closer you get to the air filter side of the machine. The old machine has the n...

TWO AirSense 10s whining

I have an AirSense 10 APAP that is about 3 years old. It started having a loud, annoying low whine that sounded like the motor, worst near the air intake. I changed everything I could think of including the filter, tubing, checked and rechecked humidifier tank fit and gasket, etc. Moving the machine...

Re: Concerning Noise from Resmed 10 Machine

I just went through this with my machine, which is about 2 years old. It was too loud to manage sleeping (even with all of my noise dampening tricks and a loud white noise machine) because the sound is so annoying... and I figure the motor wants to fail, so I bought a new one on Craigslist. This is ...

Re: Simplus FFM Quality changed?

I have found that there are a lot of cushions that whistle when any moisture is near the vents. I wrote to F & P and they were not interested at all. You're right, it's a very quiet mask when it works correctly. They do have a new version of it that I'd like to try, the Vitera. So far I haven't seen...
