Re: Air blowing out my mouth
I have this problem too, and have only partially solved it. One solution is the mouth tape. Another is to reduce the exhale pressure. I found that the air came out of my mouth when I was exhaling only, so less pressure means less air blowing out mouth.

Re: pressure feels higher with full face mask
I just explained this to my doctor. He didn't call me nuts, but he calmly explained why it doesn't make sense that the pressure would be greater with a full face mask. His theory is that with the mask being bigger it disperses the pressure over a greater area and thus the pressure should feel less. ...

pressure feels higher with full face mask
Because of excess leakage, I recently switched from a nasal pillow to a full face mask. With a full face mask, the pressure seems much higher. This happened before with a previous experiment with a full face mask. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm afraid my doctor will think I'm nuts.

Re: Apria Health
I checked with my insurance company to see if it would be feasible to get reimbursed for supplies I purchased directly. In principle it is possible, but in practice it may not be, as jcrocketman found. Certifying compliance is difficult, and a "prior authorization" is required. An individual getting...

Re: Apria Health
My new plan, based on your wise advice, is to skip the supplier and buy stuff when I need it from CPAP.COM, and submit bills to my insurance. But I have to find out first if the insurance company will cooperate in my plan. One reason to avoid the supplier is that they are always trying to push me to...

Sounds like my current supplier (Adapt Health). Is there a good supplier?

Apria Health
I have been working with a supplier of cpap equipment and supplies for a while but have grown increasingly disenchanted with them. I'm now looking for an alternative supplier. CPAP.com seems good but they are not in my insurance network. Have any of you used Apria Health, and if so what has your exp...

Re: First 5days on CPAP - AHI headed in the wrong direction?
Are you cleaning the mask/pillow/whatever you use each night? I find that AHI goes up if I neglect to clean the nasal pillow.

Re: Why bother
In the US a sleep doctor will often have samples of different masks they can give you. Have you asked your doctor? Doesn't Australian insurance cover cpap supplies?

Re: My ASV experience
I don't know what WSJ means and I don't have any Oscar charts, but I'm trying to put part of the report on my sleep study in here. They identified 2 obstructive apneas and 44 central. My wife found it amusing that my sleep latency was 1 minute. That is with all of the electrodes and whatnot attached...

My ASV experience
I've been using some sort of PAP therapy for years now, and it was of varying success. Last year my doctor recommended that I use a bi-level machine, the Resmed Aircurve 10. It worked fantastically for several months, and then the number of events per hour began soaring to 40/hour. I went in for ano...

Re: Suffocating Feeling First Night
I have sinus problems and find that it doesn't wok as well when I'm congested. If it's hard to breathe without the machine, it will behard to breathe with it. Nasal strips can help keep your breathing open. Also decongestant spray can help, but not too often.

my new ASV machine
After being diagnosed with central sleep apnea my doctor switched me to a Resmed Aircurve 10 ASV. I have a problem going to sleep with it because it seems that when I start to drift off to sleep, I stop breathing and the ASV increases the pressure dramatically and that wakes me up. Has anyone else h...

Re: Which of these two BiPAP's are the best?
I don't think the Resmed Aircurve 10 ASV is a bipap. I had a bipap that was a Resmed Aircurve10. I just picked up a Resmed Aircurve 10 ASV today to help treat my central sleep apnea.
